November chat thread
The old printer took a crap. Got a new one. Not compatable with our windows 7. Built by a friend of a friend. Youngest daughter will be coming to town for the holiday tomorrow. Need the help of a youngster/nerd to make this right. I do blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams. I don't get the stuff to work after its all wired.
I always put the wires on the screws. And whenever I do have to call a real electrician for something I can't figure out, he also puts the wires on the screws.
I stated putting big items back in like the ol 220 stick welder and the 50 ft leads are all nice and wound back up on their holders. Then Nick came buy to get some more truck parts for his Highboy project. Sounds like he is going to have a solid and very unique truck. Thin "dent" trim and race trac trim together, that is an option you can not even order. But he is going to make it happen, like actual oak wood grain inlays on the instrument, glove box trim and door panels. Gonna be awesome and he hopes to have it at OMR 2026.
I am working on more of the compressor room/shop tomorrow and then FTE Mo chapter member Brandon (77Jadef150) is stopping by for parts in the afternoon.
Dave sounds like you got that elec repairsfigured out pretty well.
Alan did you get the trailer done? Even with the dreary weather I am sure you got it done.
Dave (bassdr) and I are having a FTE Mo chapter mini G2G in Bolivar tomorrow evening.
Rich. Yeah, it's done. I went out with just a couple things to do at 10:00 am. (I overslept) I walked back in at 7:00 pm. ....but it's done. The check is in the mail, or so I'm told. On to the water truck tomorrow. I have to clean out the garage tomorrow so I have a place to work on it. Once that's done, I can get started on the dent.
Alan job well done again!
As many have said, even though the receptacles have a gauge and wire stripper built in I still don't trust the push ins on them. But I'm no electrician.
Guess I better try to get something accomplished before the day slips away.
Enjoy what's left of your weekend.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
I couldn't leave well enough alone. I added a battery charger to the trailer, so if the trailer is plugged in, the crane battery is charging. I also got the garage cleaned out of all the garage sale stuff. The big stuff is put back away, everything else is loaded in the truck and bound for Goodwill in the morning. I already took two bags of clothes to the church drop box. I'm gonna buy a new braided wire wheel and start de-scaling the water truck frame tomorrow, so I can work towards getting that gone.
I worked in the air compressor room for a while and then finially got Brandon (77Jadef150) directionially squared away and to the house. He followed his phone and that crazy address thing of mine had him on the wrong side of Hwy 123, out by the Dunnegan cemetery.
He got a few parts, more truck talk and then I went in and meet up with Dave (Bassdr) at Flat Creek for dinner. We talks trucks, controlling leaves, boats and life. The company was great, the meal not so much, but I figured since it is always hit and miss at that place.
Back to work tomorrow, working 3 10's gives me thurs and fri off. Yea 4 day weekend.
Sorry if the image is huge - can’t resize them from my phone…
I’ve decided that the base unit I’ve built is going to become the upper unit as they are the same except for the drawers. I’ll build a new base using the above clamps to square everything up and go from there.
Have a great day youins!
Not sure what happened but I'm dragging butt this morning. Tossed and turned all night so lack of sleep is part of the equation. Didn't eat late, didn't do anything out of the ordinary but something threw me off.
My daughter texted me last night and said there was an accident with fatalities between Wentzville Parkway and my exit on I70. It was pretty foggy last night so I'm not sure if that was what was responsible or not. Just a FYI this dogleg and lane widening here at Wentzville is dangerous. I70 clears up after it passes under I64 but I64 is jacked up until after you cross the Missouri River. Don't want any of you all tangled up with a Semi or other vehicle if you're heading this way.
It won't be long and we'll be stuffing our faces with all the good eats that Thanksgiving brings. I'm pretty simple; turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy and frozen peas. But I guarantee there will be WAY more than that at my daughter's table. She even has to have a turkey shaped butter?
My other daughter is in Florida. Ever since we had Jan's Celebration of Life down there she just can't get enough of it. Even though she's been to NoLa plenty of times she prefers Florida, down around Naples.
