November chat thread
First thing I do when I log into my computer is check FTE. I was about to have withdrawal fits when I couldn't find a November thread.
So; here ya go...
I just read your post about your cat bouncing across your keyboard. Wow! Fortunately none of our cats ever get up on the computer desk. I hope you get all the dasmage undone soon.
I say "our cats" even though we don't actually "own" any. The one that stays in the house 24/7 belongs to my step-son. He came and stayed with us for a couple of months several years ago. When he went back home he didn't take Rusty with him. He's still Ryan's in my mind.
Pinkey (so named 'cause her nose used to be bright pink) was left when the neighbor across the way moved away and didn't take the cat. So we feed her but she never comes in the house. She came into the house a couple of times but almost immediately ran back outside. We did have her spayed when we realized that the former neighbor wasn't going to come get her.
Lord Gray (LG) comes and goes to/from the house at his own leisure. We don't know where he came from. He just showed up one day. We live on a dead-end gravel road and over the years we've taken care of several animals that have been dumped out here. LG obviously has been someone's pet in the past. He's been neutered before he came here. He's big, fat, and in control of the house. He sometimes disappears for a couple of days at a time.
We keep food out on the patio for stray pets, 'coons, 'possums, or any other animal that needs a meal. There is a little black cat that occasionally comes around to eat but he (or she???) won't let anyone nearer than about 10 feet away. We see it a day or two every couple of weeks.
Anyway, Happy November to all.
b-t-w; I don't remember if I mentioned it in the October thread but Clarence is now at the body shop and disassembly has begun.

Guess I could have started the thread using my phone, but I hate to FTE with my phone.

Between work and home, I've been slacking on keeping up with FTE.
Not much going on here. I've been taking some time to get back to work on the cabinets for the main bathroom. The first section is assembled and the drawer slides have been installed. I still have to make the drawers and a few other items before the wife can start painting it.

I've got another conference this week that'll have me away from home for most of the week so I'll probably be checking in a little more often.

One of them is home from Germany, a while back he graduated Army basic and AIT (he is now a MP-Military Police). And his 1st duty station is Germany, he is even at a airfield that I used to fly out of for training missions. I passed on a 4 star General challange coin to him. The 1st one I gave him a while back was my old Avn Battalion Commander LTC coin. But it got out ranked a while back, so I had to help a fellow service man out. Besides he has earned is for sure doing so well with his new career path.
The other one is on leave from Marine Corp basic training. Once he finishes that, he is on to Aircraft mechanic school in Florida, not sure if he is going to trac fixed or rotary wing and if he will be a land or carrior based. Time will tell, he just has to get over the "training" part of it.

I can see you're proud of these youngsters. Please tell them we thank them for doing what they do so we can do what we do.
Coincidentally my son-in-law did Marine basic in San Diego, and then aircraft mechanic school in Florida. He spent the rest of his 5 years of active duty as a jet engine mechanic on land based FA-18 fighters. He spent 6 months in Japan and the rest of his time in S Carolina and Virginia. After that he did 15 years of reserves doing something he's not allowed to talk about.
After church today Sherry, her friend Dee, and I are heading to the annual chicken dinner at the Catholic Church in Starkenburg. Yum.
