Good Morning, Washington and Friends, We made it through another weekend. Had a brief visit from the grandkids yesterday as they were passing through town and heading back home to Idaho. Got to help my youngest, who just turned 8, graduate to a 20" bike. She said she's too big now for the little kids bike we had and wanted to know if we could donate it to someplace for some other kid to learn to ride. I thought that was touching, and pretty amazing, actually, from an 8 year old. Apparently she's being raised right.
So to cap off a good weekend, here's last night's colors at sunset.
Hellos all!
Like usual I didn't sleep at all last night but I was able to get a bunch done in the barn and then run a bunch of errands already!
My wife, a couple of her siblings and the neighbors will be here soon to start processing 78 chickens today and tomorrow. It's not my deal so I'm here for support of whatever they'll need like beverages and replacement propane tanks.
But until everyone gets here im gonna take a power nap!

I am with you on the Nap and as far as the beverages, it would be one for you and 2 for me! Wow and I thought doing 6 was a lot! LOL I don't hardly have freezer space for maybe one chicken at the moment much less 78! LOL
Evening Sean, and that has happened several times throughout the country. Also tossing depleted batteries in a box for later recycle has been the cause of many house fires. Always put a piece of black tape over one contact! The have just enough power to short out against another battery and light the house off!

Speaking of batteries shorting out, I was changing smoke detector batteries, the 9V kind, and put one in my pocket while I was going up and down the ladder. Never gave it a thought until my pocket instantly started burning the crap out of my leg. The two terminals on the top of the battery came into contact with my keys and the heat from the overload short was enough to leave me with a valuable lesson. It got HOT, really HOT, really fast. Burnt my hand as I was trying to empty my pockets.

Over the years I read many a story in hunting magazines where hunters has ammunition in their pocket and a battery and something going BANG!

Ken, 78 chickens, that's a lot of chickens. I don't mind 6 or 8 chickens but 78, I don't think so.
We have about 30 chickens but they are butt nugget producers!
Well nap got interrupted so I'm not running on much sleep today.
About 3 years ago our neighbor gave us a full cow so I picked up the biggest chest freezer that bLowes had.
I came back into the house because the clouds burned off and it was getting hot and there was a crap load of yellowjackets buzzing around.
If they need anything out there I told them to text me! Haha
Evening Tim, Wayne Ken and visitors. We used to raise 25 chickens each year when the kids were still home. One year we ended up with 50 because someone backed out on theirs and we took them. That was too much. A lot of work raising and dressing them but some good eating!
I mentioned something like a week ago that I might be adding another Ford to my list.... well it happened!
I picked this up the other day for $500 with one cylinder 15-20psi less than the others. I have some ideas for it but it's not like I really need another project! Haha
