Is that right, Sous? I tried adding FSL to the A6 in my Yukon, having already installed it previously on my S7 phone. Play store still wanted $5. Same when I fired up the S8. I've given Playstore/FSL $15 bucks so far. I thought I had to pay by device. I wonder what I did wrong. Maybe I did not sign in correctly and it thought I was a new user?
It is right based on my experience. I paid for FSL a couple of years ago one time and have since installed it several more times on several devices since then. To include an S7, tablet, Droid 2 and the ATOTO A6. I used the same gmail account I originally purchased FSL with to install it on the other devices.
Just like TorquePro, I paid for that once and installed it on at least 3 devices before I decided it was dead to me..
When I go to the play store using the same login/gmail account, I can view the apps I have downloaded, the ones I have installed and the ones I have paid for. Once bought, they are free to download again if the same account is utilized.
I can even go to the play store using my laptop and manage the apps on the various devices. I am not sure how you were accessing the play store, but know for a fact I paid for FSL only one time.
I have not paid for the Lite version I believe, just the standard version for the laptop. I assume like the PC version the lite version will give me a code or saved in my google profile that works on other devices. I’ll be playing with the radio for a while I imagine to get it all setup and simple looking
@Eaglescout94 I am not as familiar with the PC version as I find it cumbersome to use. I carry a laptop in the truck with me that has FORScan on it as a backup, just in case. As I understand it there is a free and enhanced (forget the terminology) that requires registering and a key. I am not sure I was aware there was a paid version of FORScan for the PC.
I apologize for not relaying the $5 cost for FSL to you during our conversation on the phone. I would be willing to send you the cost of FSL via PayPal if that is something you are interested in. I take responsibility for my actions and am a man of my word. Everything I say here publicly, via PM, text message or on the phone I would say to someone looking them in the eyes.
I make mistakes and try to learn from them and do my best to correct them. Again, my apologies and I will look upon this as a learning opportunity for myself.
No worries at all about the fee. I originally never intended in using the Lite version or I would have planned it all out before. The laptop is handy, I dont remember what the paid vs non paid version allows with the PC version.
I got the system up and running in the ATOTO, seems like I have a iffy connection with the USB or OBD connections but when I shut the truck off it was working. The little Ive used the radio so far it is a huge improvement over the single din I had previous and the old edge unit I used for a gauge cluster. Hopefully the weather stays tolerable atleast 1 day in the next 3 so I can install the ISSPRO pyro and remove the ISSPRO HPOP since it’s now on the radio screen. Ive still got plenty of tinkering to get the screen setup how I want it.
Sounds good, I didn't want you to feel misled or anything is all.
As for the USB connection, are you using the standard port on the back or one of the two proprietary cable ports?
One was labeled quick connect and the other was quick charge, or something like that. The connect one is the USB port I am using for the dash camera and the standard port is what am using for the OBDII dongle.
There should not be anything pushing against the back of the stereo, but that is a possibility.
Sous, Eaglescout...could you guys post some pics of the completed install and of FSL, in use? I think this thread will be very valuable to a lot of folks (me heading down this road. Thank you guys for posting the details.

Your welcome and no need to apologize. I know some of these threads take on a life of their own and I certainly do not expect people to read through each and every post to find what they want. I don't mind helping people find the information and details they seek.
I hope the images and words helped you out. If not, be sure to post here or shoot me a PM and I (or others with the ATOTO) will do our best to get your sorted out.
I went out to the truck yesterday to set our path of travel from home to the beach. Because I had just looked at it closely on my laptop, it was at the top of my list for search history in Google Maps on the head unit. I think I am really going to like this and am looking forward to giving it a run this Saturday.
I will also be using the FORScan Lite data log and archiving feature during the 4 hour trip to the beach and back.

I am slightly jealous, that beach is 815 miles from me, a long 13 hours... One of these years I will get back down there.
The atoto headunit is on the top of my want (not need) list, keep us updated on how it works.

We look forward to it every year! It is a great place to be and probably has changed much at all since you were there so long ago. It is the opposite of say Myrtle Beach, Daytona or someplace like that. It is quiet, small town feel and very relaxing. Our camper will be just a stones throw from the beach and as you lay there at night going to sleep, you can hear the waves crashing on the beach.
I think the head unit will do very well. We have been using our Samsung S7 for navigating and media for quite a while now. I am looking forward to multi-tasking with it to save FORScan data logs and run Google Maps at the same time. If I get froggy, I might load some Joe Rogan Experience podcasts via YouTube.
I’m using one of the special USB ports that plug in the back, I don’t remember which right now. I don’t believe there’s anything pushing on the back but there’s time where it doesn’t connect to the truck, like it’s not plugged in and other times it boots right up working like it should.
Maybe try switching it to the standard port on the back or even the front just for testing sake. If the problem moves with the port moving, there is likely a problem with the adapter or connection at the OBDII port.
I plan to perform another "test" when we depart this weekend for the beach. I will have the ATOTO A6 on the home WiFi, but I will also have the WiFi hotspot established on my phone. As we drive away from the house and the home WiFi signal is lost, I hope and expect the ATOTO to jump over to the S7 WiFi hotspot.
If this doesn't work, I will look into establishing a WiFi tether connection via BT from the phone to the ATOTO since the secondary BT receiver on the ATOTO is not being used.
