The truck is running strong sir, keep it that way!

Considering the content and "message" of the second video, I would like you to consider the history lesson and potential pitfalls when observing (ignoring) limits...

This...

^^^ Turbonator

Plus this...

^^^ FTN crazy eyes...

Plus this...

Equals this...

Keep it out of the danger zone when you are dancing around to your "no limit" theme song sir!

I am pleased to report that after a few months of running with the updated unison ring, the Turbonator has been operating nominally. I plan to take it apart again in the coming weeks for inspection, cleaning and to apply tungsten disulfide dry lubricant to the unison ring for good measure.

Once the Turbonator proves itself in long-term testing then I will get on with the compound setup.

You've got bigger fish to fry.

You know there are plenty of fish in the sea.

At least 8 are ready and waiting for you to try.

Was day dreaming about Turbonators today for my S363. Recently I rebuilt a 6.7 PS VGT turbo with all the fancy parts, billet compressor, drop in turbine, etc. The turbine wheel is relatively small with a 63.5mm exducer, 71.5mm inducer. Got me thinking the smaller 63/68 SXE would be a prime candidate for a Turbonator. With good tuning/injectors one could have a 7.3 that runs close to a 6.7, minus 2 gears and a few hp but very similar in terms of boost and hp/tq curve. Got thinking, great I'll even sell some junk to get a Turbonator coming for my 63/68. I go to their site and they only have them for 71mm and 74mm exducer. Disappointed to say the least, I have a 63/74 on the shelf but I don't see any gain stepping up in size and then hoping the VGT compensates it.

Might contact them, I would love a 63/68 VGT (mechanical). I think it would push it into a realm of performance seen by few.

That's the beauty of the Turbonator. You don't have to drop down to the 68 to get the responsiveness. Forget conventional turbo sizing wisdom. I can tell you that beyond the ability to be an exhaust brake, the electronic version has way better response also.

My ideal varies from all yours. It consists of selling my 7.3 and buying a 6.7.

But that aint happening

The same can be said about the opposite as well. Instead of the VGT being used to spool a bigger turbo it can be used to flow a smaller turbine better in the upper RPM.

My new 6.7 has 10 gears so you would be down more gears than just 2.

Being down on gears makes the Turbonator more attractive. Personally I have never felt the 6.7 needed more than 6 gears towing.
