Awesome news! Glad to help. (You still may want to get into FORScan for future help, tweaks, etc.)
couldnt have done it without ya. Idk why mine kept crashing but I never would have gotten those files I needed. I have heard about it before. There are some appealing tweaks I could make using that for sure
IT’S WORKING!!!! I parked the truck for about 15 minutes or so, locked the doors and gave it time to fully reset. Came back out and it started right up. Tested media, music, CarPlay, everything works good. Factory master reset it before anything else.
FINALLY got the issue solved, haha. I say again to both camper and jeep you guys have been great and a huge help through all of it. Really appreciate it.
Great! Way to stick with it and not give up. That last bit was probably the hardest.
My local Ford dealer did the update on my 2018 F250 and appeared to have fried the apim. Screen quit working, took it back in and they tried a bunch of things and are ordering a new apim for my truck now.
Hi Guys - got a head scratcher for all of you on Sync 3.4 and the Camera System! I have a 2019 F-450 XLT with the 5 Camera "Surround" Camera System! As we have an Arctic Fox slidein truck camper, we removed the tailgate within three weeks of purchase and brought it to our Truck Camper Dealer to be outfitted with mounts and some minor suspension additions. We then picked up our new camper and pretty much left it on from there on out. We even spent a good portion of last winter on a southern trip down through GA/FL and headed back just as COVID hit.
Anyway, I installed the Sync 3.4 USB sticks, sometime after we returned from FL, very successfully... everything went very smoothly. I've had no problems. Love it! We have not done ANY camping, as my wife is scared to death of COVID and I can't talk her out of it or change her mind so the camper just sits in the driveway. I just bought a nice Goldline cover for it, winterized it and put the cover on for the winter! I unwrapped the tailgate this afternoon (had it wrapped in a NEW furniture moving blanket in the garage) and had my neighbor give me a hand installing it. Removed the dummy plugs, sprayed a bit of contact electrical cleaner in both plugs (video and multi-pin) and plugged them in! Fired the truck up, tailgate locks fine but NO CAMERA! Unplugged and plugged the video plug a couple of times and tried again - still nothing!
Is there a chance that because the tailgate was OFF when I installed the software, that the camera never got configured??? If so, how do I get the software to pick up the camera NOW? I even plugged in my Camera-Source.com Camera (plugs into the same video plug) to make sure that it wasn't a tailgate issue... that one didn't work either! I haven't used that either since before Sync 3.4 unfortunately...
I'm getting ready to use it in about an hour or so. Got just a couple questions (probably already answered earlier but, could you save me the search?). First, is there a specific version of the upgrade I should grab for a truck with the premium towing multiple camera setup, or do I just chose the latest version of the available 3.4 upgrade (and will it automatically detect all of the camera inputs?)? I'm also a little confused by the need to select light or dark modes in the updater program. Will it not give you both? I'm assuming this references the daytime and night mode background settings (not finding any explanation of this on Cyan Labs site)?
Who knows what those Russians are doing with this 3.4 update.
your call but all the files download are from Ford servers and then put on usb with the correct install files. I just read that Ford just released 3.4.20282 for the ranger. It should migrate its way down. I have been running that version on (5) different trucks (4) 3.4 upgrades since early December. No issues.
I just completed this update on my 2017 F250 with Nav. Lariat trim. Updated to Sync 3.4.20282.
Everything work perfectly though the display will take some getting used to. I completed the update with an SD card in a USB adapter and followed this tutorial: https://cyanlabs.net/tutorials/manua...e-ford-sync-3/
Stuff to note: the truck does not like Mac. All formatting needs to be done on a PC. Writing the reformat.lst text file on Mac does not work as it will not actually save as .lst. It will save as .txt. If you start out on a Mac, your truck will give you this terrifying red error screen. Go back and start over on PC and it will work perfectly.
Can you share a pic of what the screen looks like now?

I have yet to test Nav and CarPlay but will report back. The map location, map details, orientation, etc all seem to be working well. I don't typically use CarPlay so I will give it a test run.
The only issue I seem to be running into after driving around for 2 hours is that my climate control temperatures seem to be off. It's 65 degrees and sunny in Dallas today and I need to turn the heat up to about 80 to feel like it's actually putting out heat. AC seemed to work fine but didn't seem to be much of a difference between LO and 66. Could need a recharge after 4 years, though.
I've done both a master reset and soft reset. I'll keep my eyes on it and update later.
