The maps are updated and cost more than 100$
Also you now have navigation in the cluster screen with Android auto.
Does anyone know if this also works with Apple CarPlay? What does it look like? Same as the stock navigation directions in the cluster or actually rendered by the phone using Apple\Google\etc Maps?
I have a 2018 F-150 that has the steering wheel heater only on the nav screen, no actual physical button. I saw a video where they got rid of the climate display in 3.4. Will I still be able to access my steering wheel heater anywhere on 3.4, like on the home screen or anywhere, or if I make this upgrade will I lose my ability to turn my steering wheel heater on and off?

For those of us WITHOUT factory nav - does this upgrade allow Google maps to be displayed on the home screen? Same way trucks with factory nav system display it now?

Android Auto or Apple CarPlay will allow maps do be displayed on the screen regardless if a vehicle is equipped with the OEM / Factory navigation or not.

You either misunderstood, or I didn't ask clearly enough. Currently, when I press the home button, even when AA is running in the background, the left side of the home screen will not display maps. It will show audio info - what's currently playing - but not maps. In the video that h20camper posted above, when you go to 6.30 min mark - the guy presses "exit" icon in AA, which takes him to home screen, with "maps" being displayed on the left. My truck with Sync 3 will not show map there when I hit "exit" in AA, it will show audio info instead. However, I know that systems with factory nav will show map.
So my question was this - does the guy in video have "maps" on home screen because he has factory nav? Or is this new feature included in this upgrade that allows map being displayed on the home screen even WITHOUT factory nav?

Ahh okay, now I see what you’re saying and yes, I misunderstood what you were asking.
That is an interesting question and for those without factory navigation, it would be awesome it would work in the way you’re interested in but sadly whenever the Android Auto is disabled, more than likely the SYNC interface will take over regardless if navigation is running on your phone.

IOS 13.4 CarPlay allows third party navigation to be displayed. But only Apple Maps is currently supported. Google and Waze are not available yet
I just updated to the 13.4 beta 5 this afternoon. I’ll let you know if I see any changes in CarPlay. Now if they could fix the low volume issue

It’s cool that CarPlay will allow other navigation apps to be displayed but I wonder if the other navigation apps will do it because Apple said that it’s up to those other companies to allow said usage on CarPlay.
You’re correct, Waze nor Google will not work nor does Sygic or Magic Earth.
Have a 2020 F350 with Sync 3.4 and having issues browsing for new songs from a USB drive while the vehicle is moving. Works fine when stopped, but would like my front seat passenger to be able to change songs from a USB drive while moving. Our 2018 Expedition with Sync 3.0 doesn't have this issue, so wondering if anyone has found a solution.
