Total success! Took only 27 minutes to update the system and maps, and now everything is working great. NavTv was indeed a nonissue. Thanks everyone. New maps, new system and new-look interface.
I have the update downloaded just having 2nd thoughts about using it on my new to me 2016 F150, I had the Ford Sync upgrade to 3.0 done yesterday but the maps are from 2014. Does the 3.0 allow for Android Auto wireless to just use my Google Maps app instead.

The hardware of your truck doesn't support Wireless Android Auto. Sync 3 does support wired Android Auto which has Google Maps. I'd suggest upgrading to Sync v3.4 and maps 2020 if you're comfortable with doing such. CyanLabs provides a great tool and tutorials.

Will this work with a 2016 Ford Edge with sync 3 and nav?
I actually never did the update as I need the USB hub and didn't want to be without. From what I have read on other sites you may still need to change the USB hub for carplay and Android Auto to work.
It will allow for wireless connection of Android Auto, so no need to connect the phone via USB. Should be available at the end of the month (and hopefully a bit cheaper on Amazon...).

I'm a little late to the discussion....🤔😉
I sort of know the answer to this question, but I am wondering when you decided to go to the Cynlabs Sync 3.4 Updater instead of the Ford Sync Updater?
Obviously with Ford you have to pay for updates at a certain point. I have a complimentary Ford Sync 3.4 maps update digital download....but wouldn't Cynlabs be the way to go?
I'm not gonna lie I'm a little nervous. l've downloaded the newest version of Cynlabs Sync 3.4 2.0 Updater/ Maps on a USB Thumb drive , but have not tried to install yet.
What say you...
PS...don't you have to have the truck running for like an hour for the download to take?
