Two? Ouch. You better have a stiff drink.
Rumors in the Chicago Tribune a few weeks back said vehicles aren’t selling, and prices are going to start dropping, or automakers will be going belly-up in the next decade.
As long as the majority of new vehicle sales are leases, that majority remain stuck in that pattern which insures an almost guaranteed sale every three years. Prices will always rise because the next lease is inevitable with little to stop it.
Personally we buy, and always have.
My first Super Duty PSD CCSWB 4x4 Lariat purchased in 1998 was an absolutely absurd 38K..
21 years later, it's going to be 86k. Another 21 years? 180k.
I spoke to two local dealerships yesterday and they both stated that the Chassis Cab build guide is available for the dealers to place orders. I asked if I could get a copy to work out what I wanted and neither would provide me a copy.
Come on... someone out there must have access and can share it out here. I just don't understand why it is a big secret.

Been there done that and finally got fed up and walked. I asked why could I not sit down at the computer with the order guy and just go thru the options and place an order. NO, we don't do it that way! So I was left on my own to figure out what I wanted and what was available. MUCH help came from this forum, but an endless cycle of writing down this and that then a come back with, you cannot get those wheels with the chrome package etc etc etc. Finally I just walked and walked into another dealer that when I said I want to order, we walked to the order room, sat down, and then thru the order line by option. He hit send and said I should have confirmation within 30 min, stay here or come back after lunch. I did and had my confirm paperwork print out in my hand within the hour.
My dealership, West-Herr Ford in Hamburg NY is simply the best.
SOOOO easy. Place and order by giving codes from the guide or by simple description and they send you back the order confirmation. Want to change something? No problem. They can always go back into Concepts and change it. Once the order is locked, that can not happen, but it usually sits for a month before Ford locks it for final assembly. I’ve done it a few times. Never an attitude or a problem.
I will be going to local ford dealership that sold me my ‘16 lariat CC LWB lariat tomorrow. Super cool salesmen names Jaime, no pressure. he said over the phone if we ordered a 2020 it be here sometime January, he did not say if he could actually “order” it or price sheet. But I can’t wait to order the exact truck I want.
I know fords build sheet online is pretty minimum it covers the basic extras and upgrades.
but can you order a limited and get the front LSD. Or do you have to get the tremor package?
I quick scanned all 23 pages, but I missed one detail. Is the $4,500 MSRP increase across all trim levels or just the F-450?
I was hoping to get into a nice XLT with the 7.3 and Tremor packages, but the prices are a bit high. If the MSRP is across all models, it’s insane. Plus, I really wanted the manual lever for 4WD and none of the Sync3 garbage. Really not liking what I’m seeing on the build sheet...

I think that $4500 increase you saw was comparing a specific 2020 build to a 19 build. It wasnt all in the base MSRP, some options packages have gone up because they include more and the diesel has gone up about $1K.
There is another thread showing a build (non 450) and the base MSRP wasn't much more than it is now. The difference in base MSRP on a f350 CCLB appears to be $800, not sure if that will be the same on all cab/bed/trim configurations.

I'm not sure about all trim levels, but the $4,200 or so MRSP increase is for the Limited trim level. Yes, some options in 19s are now standard in the 20s, but as far as limiteds are concerned, the price increase for including those is WAY more than those options cost on a 19. My build went from roughly $90k on a 2019 to nearly $95k on an absolutely identical 2020 limited save for the new transmission of course.

Specifically what made that difference? I know that diesel is 1k more, was the other $3200 just in base MSRP? That would seem like alot when the Lariat only appears to be $800 more than theb19 base MSRP.
The only thing I can see that is different is that the 5th wheel prep is now standard (at least on the 450). I'm sure the new transmission bumped the price up a grand or so. I guess they wanting to charge a few grand more in the limited for their new wood trim and interior color

What I meant was, is the increase in price reflected in the base MSRP? Not in the total MSRP.
Pricing is now available on nadaguides.com also. I priced out a 2020 and 2019 Platinum F350 srw diesel as identically equipped as I could. Invoice for the 20 was $77,837. The 19 was $75,167 for difference of $2670. The Platinum Ultimate package is no longer an option on the 20 as some of the stuff that was in it on the 19 is now standard. The moonroof is thankfully a stand alone option because I don't want one. I priced the 19 without the Ultimate package but added in the other stuff.
I'm wondering about the gear ratio's. I like the idea of getting max fuel mileage not towing but I wonder how the 3.31 will do with a heavy tow. Maybe the 10 speed will make it just fine.

3.31s do just fine with our 16k 5th wheel. I don't see it as a big issue.
Played with the pricing some more and what surprised me is a Platinum equipped like I want is $1227 invoice cheaper than a like equipped King Ranch. I did change the 18 inch standard KR tires to 20's to match the Platinum. That added some to the price and may account for the difference. A Lariat equipped with the same options was $3294 invoice cheaper than the Platinum and $4521 cheaper than the KR. The Lariat may be the way I go but I need to try the seats and see if they are as comfortable as my KR. I'm not sure how much difference there is.
