Ford called electronic shift on the fly 4x4 "ESOF", and we used to call manual shift on the floor 4x4 "MSOF".
Calling it "manual shift on stop" is a misnomer, because the transfer case doesn't shift into 4Lo too well on "stop". One should be in neutral, and rolling about 1 mph for optimal manual shifting both into and out of 4x4... never "stopped".
Truck ordered !!!
FYI My new 2020 F450 Limited with a few extras actually priced out about $480.00 less then the 2019 I specked out on the Ford website. Yes I said LESS !!!
I have 4 dealer in a 50 mile radius none of them can order a truck until ford release it. Did they give any paperwork.

They call it shift on stop because in the manual Ford makes it sound like you can't leave the hubs locked in long term, you have to stop and lock the hubs in them put it in 4wd.
Everybody (including myself) just lock the hubs in and leave them until we think we won't need 4wd. I think Ford is just trying to keep people from taking the mileage hit from having the front end spinning all the time.
If they lower the 350s I may cancel my order. I like the big factory stance. There are running boards for a reason. I'm biased though cause I have no problem reaching over the bed and hooking up my 5th wheel lol.
You've got to be kidding. And go back to a 17-19? Likely used? Or a pre-17 that’s shorter? Or a Dodge that’s shorter. Or a Chevy that’s shorter? Two measly inches in a truck so high it gives you nosebleeds? Go add a $400 level if you need to feel taller than the rest.
My dealer just called and they tried to submit the order but it was rejected due to NO PRICING...I trust these folks, bought there before, small town 2 salesmen dealer, I know everyone there...???
Agree, I'm not seeing how people are ordering yet - I was at my dealer yesterday and they have ZERO pricing or even order sheets - in Arizona.
Really disappointed that they made no changes to the interior to try to match up to Ram. Being that I cannot afford to jump thru a truck every year or 2, I was hoping for some new tech other than the archaic 8" Sync3 system. Might have to jump my loyalty lines, sucks...
He called back 2 days later, 15 Aug and we placed the order that day.
Wow - that's awesome - good to see options and prices with X-plan - that's almost exact truck I'm looking at and I also have Xplan..thanks!!! now to find a dealer in AZ that can get into this...

Not sure where you are at, but I bought a F 350 when I lived out in Scottsdale from Bell Ford, got a GREAT deal on it, great trade-in and left happy.
Just ordered my Rapid Red F450 limited today. Order accepted and confirmed. Roughly $95k MSRP, got X plan plus a $2,000 PCO. Final price $87,500. I'm happy! Saw a 2020 explorer with that color at the dealer....wow it's a beautiful color.
