I built a 2020 F-450 on the NADA site, selected the 397 Amp Alternator and the Rapid-Heat Supplemental Cab Heater. When I added the supplemental heater, it said that the 397 Amp was included and removed that option. However in my reading of the Order Guide, the 397 Amp is required, not included. Has anyone ordered the Rapid-Heat and got the 397 Amp at no charge?

Yep the rapid heater automatically gives you the 397 amp alt.

It's not listed as a charge on my order build sheet and it is required when you order the rapid cab heat. Did you have the alternator added first before you added the rapid cab heat?? That's the only reason why I would see it telling you it needed to be removed. Well technically it's not removing it b/c it's part of the package when you order the rapid cab heat.

I selected the 397 Amp Alternator first as it appears higher in the list, when I selected the Rapid Heat, it didn't remove the check mark for the alternator but the alternator did not appear in the pricing list. I am expecting an order confirmation soon from my dealer with both the Rapid-Heat and the Snow Plow Prep both of which require an upgrade to the alternator. However, the snow plow only requires 200 amp and the Limited package has a larger standard alternator.

I never went to NADA and built mine but just went there to see first hand what you are explaining. It did the same thing when I selected FX4 and it adds the Skid Plates but it puts the little green plus sign next to it and when you hover over it it says "Included". What I make of this is that it's included in one of the other options so it's also included in the price of that other option (if its got a plus sign it's free). Yeah I didn't realize that it bumped up the alternator either until we were completing the build sheet and he told me but that's the first either of us had even looked at it. Hell we spent 30 minutes trying to figure out why we couldn't add the Gooseneck package but I could order the accessory kit and then I started reading to find out it's included now...lol!!

Yes, I went back and did the same, if you don't select the 397 amp alternator and select the Rapid-Heat, the alternator gets selected with the green plus. So if you want the 397 amp alternator, you can get the Rapid-Heat for only $124 (invoice) more. I have it on my 2008 F-250 and it sure is nice on 10 degree mornings.
Also, it appears that the 5th wheel/Gooseneck Hitch Prep Package is included on the F-450 KR -> Limited. I am still waiting for the confirmation from my dealer.
Here is the 2020 Super Duty Chassis Cab Build guide.
REPS sent.
FYI, to the others who were waiting to see the 2020 Chassis Cab guide for purposes of spec'ing out an F-600, sadly, there is no information whatsoever concerning the F-600 on the 2020 order guide linked above.
Something’s happening @ Ford.com. Think they’re finally updating the site to include the 2020 SDs in their build and price. Tried clicking on it under future vehicles & got an error message page, “sometimes things just don’t go as planned”. Marketing Dept’s Amy confirmed they are updating it today. Hopefully, the new towing and payload capabilities for both redesigned PS diesel and new 7.3L gas big block will be revealed.

Still think it will say TBD until Texas state fair. It’s going to be some kind of a unveiling. Not just put on the website with no announcement.
23 more days? They can wait til then to unveil their Texas special editions. Pretty dumb marketing, if they’re willing to lose another month’s worth of sales to the competition just to wait for a state fair to announce important capabilities numbers. I get the brand loyalty sales, just look how many have already ordered your F-450s. There must be quite a few fleet outfits waiting on the fence to hear numbers for the new gas big block, before deciding which of the big three gets their contracts. Maybe Ford knows big government contracts aren’t submitted until November or December for the next year.

I agree with this. RAM has been really RAMping (lol) their game and killing it. The sooner the better.
Given they will likely only hit lots post Christmas, I think texas state fair is fine timing. I mean I'd love to get details on the all new 2024 SD too but what point if you cant drive/buy one.
