As far as discounts when ordering, join Mustang Club of America for $25 and you can get X plan pricing which is essentially invoice plus it caps the document fee. You may get a better price haggling but on an ordered refreshed 2020 I doubt you will beat it by much for a few months at least.
$25 to get $4-$5k off is a pretty good deal
Thank you for the X-plan info, I was wondering what that was and how to get it.
First, doc fees are a joke. When you are making payment with the Finance guy, just tell him that the doc fee has to go. What are they going to do, kill a deal over a few bucks?
Also, X Plan is another joke. Buy at invoice, which is still a few hundred cheaper. Most dealers sell at invoice when asked, and others will go below invoice.

How do people get PCO deals?
You can try requesting a brochure, although I dont know when they will be available. Otherwise getting a PCO is a random thing.
You'll have to talk with the dealers about pricing on a 2020, often they will sell at invoice or bellow without any plan pricing. Are you a Costco member? Costco member pricing was something like $1100 under invoice when I checked a few months ago.

I just went to Costco site and their line up is very limited, No F 450 at all and you have to contact a dealer to find out your price and I think it only applies to inventory, not orders? What I like about X plan is I can walk into any dealer and get it, not being forced to use a certain dealer.

I'm not sure about models, I was at the dealership getting a qoute to order a 2019 at the time (back in March). He looked up Costco pricing for the Super Duty and said it was $1100 under invoice. He then offered to give me $1500 bellow invoice to do even better, called it Costco plus haha. I'm not sure if doc fees are capped here, every dealer I contacted was the same, $85.
My guess is the 10r140 10th gear ratio will be around 0.63 and the current 6r140's 6th is 0.674, so it will help lower the rpms at highway speed but not enough for me. I just think 4.30's are a waste as 1st gear is probably going to be a 4.5 or around there and the current 6r140 is 3.97. They could've even switched to 4.10 and it would be a drastic improvement in mileage and still have plenty of power from a stop. But, this is all speculative until the 10 speed ratios are released.
I wonder if it will be close to the Ford 10R80.....
X-plan is not a bad deal. Maybe in some areas of the country can you get 5k off sticker by good ole haggling when ordering a high demand vehicle with a new refresh and new powertrain. In my neck of the woods I could barely get any dealer to come off $1k on my order at this point in the model year, so Xplan was awesome pricing for me.

Not necessarily. My X plan price is $36 over invoice. I was not familiar with X plan when I found out I was eligible so I did some research. What I found is X plan is Invoice minus .4% plus $250. My X plan price does not reflect that formula exactly but very close. Likely the percentage off is different. I also found there are strict rules associated with X plan pricing. One is the dealer cannot offer any free items to close the deal. So no free bed liner, mud flaps or oil changes. The dealer has to charge at least their cost for the items.
I also tried going through Costco buying service. The price I was quoted was $250 under invoice but the closest dealer was 70 miles away.
None of the local dealers around me sell at invoice when asked. It is just the market I'm in. You might get invoice with a lot of haggling and effort but it won't come easy. X plan made it easy.
Some folks might be getting very attractive (below invoice) pricing from their dealers... because they are financing the truck through the dealer.
What the dealer gives up on the face of the deal, they are making up for in less than obvious ways over time on the back end.
My input was based off of 2019 shopping, I'm not in the market for a 2020 but would be surprised to see much of a deal this early in the game. Many dealers dont even seem to be entertaining orders yet.
I dont agree with your theory on getting bellow invoice because of dealer financing. When I was shopping a 19 Lariat , started in Feb., the worst qoute I got was $800 bellow invoice and the best was $2500 bellow (the one I purchased off the lot). There were a couple others in between but none were based on financing, the qoutes were given prior to determining that.

Is that based off of a 2020 order? And is that the current Costco pricing on a 2020 Super Duty?

True and false. I’m sure a fair share are getting hosed on interest kickbacks or other profit makers like add-ons etc. I’m a cash buyer unless the deal comes with zero%, but I’ve also bought a lot of new vehicles over my life from my Ford dealership.. It’s more about location in the country, and what the dealer business model is. Our area is more about volume. Ready to buy? Let’s get it done seems to be the way here. We have some of the highest volume dealerships in the country within 40 miles of my house. With volume comes more profit incentive targets for the dealers to achieve from the automaker.
So having said that, X Plan may be a viable option in those hard *** areas of the country.
Seems like the southern states are having their cake and eating it.

It was for a recent 2019 order. I assume the X plan pricing calculation is the same regardless of model year. Costco pricing seems to be based on local market so it may vary depending on model year and demand.

Maybe its regional, I was shopping 2019 F250 diesel Lariats and was considering doing an order, went into my local dealer with my build to get a quote, they asked if I was a Costco member, yep, he looked in a book and said it was $1100 under invoice at that time. He then upped it to $1500 under and printed up a qoute. I'm pretty sure it was March. Funny thing is, almost every other state seemed to have better pricing and none of the dealers here (CA) were willing to match out of state pricing.
I dont haggle, so every price inquiry I did was straight to the point, no back and forth, just showed interest in the truck and interested in a price.
