With the gcwr of the f450, am I missing something? It says with the 4x4 crew cab is 42,000lbs but the 2019 is 43,300lbs? It went down? Ford not continuing the best in class status?
The 2019 F450 4x4 crew cab GCWR is 41,700# so its up 300# for 2020. The 2019 F450 reg cab was 43,300# which is up to 45,300# according to the 2020 order guide.
Yes orders can be accepted by the dealer but they cant be submitted to ford yet. I've had multiple large high volume dealers tell me the exact same thing. All say mid September for the actual submission to Ford.
That's only half true. As you can see from 17 Oaks posts, the order banks are open and Ford is accepting orders. But only in CONCEPTS. It is not up in WBDO yet. We had this exact same thing happen last March when the 2019 order banks opened. I had an order in and the order acknowledgement in hand on 3/2/18 when the order banks opened yet many on here said it was impossible because dealer a, b and c said they couldn't order one yet.
17 Oaks's order acknowledgement is from CONCEPTS.
If they drag the old timer out of the back that knows CONCEPTS they can place an order in now. If there are just newbies at your dealer that only know WBDO, you'll have to wait.
Aye aye. I wasn't questioning your reasons for wanting the order guide for the chassis cab.
I was simply "bumping" your question, because despite your question being the first response to this thread, some four pages of posts have transpired, with not one answer or even an acknowledgement of your request.
When I typed the word "Bump" and hit submit post, I received an error stating that a post must have a minimum of 10 characters in order to be accepted.
So I edited the post to say "Bumpity bump bump bump..." as a creative play on words, which you obviously picked up on, but misinterpreted the reasons for my saying it that way.
It was not to challenge your reasoning. It was to support your request.
The only Super Duties I've ever ordered or purchased were chassis cabs, btw.
I'd like to see the 2020 chassis cab order guide myself.
What I would like more clarification on is how, exactly, are the brakes different between the F-600 and the F-550. Ford says the brakes are different, and besides the using the F-53/59 wheels and 245 tires, the brakes were the principal change made to bump the GVWR by 2,500 lbs. But at the time of the F-600 announcement, Ford didn't delve into further detail, although if the eSource book is available, perhaps a comparative chart citing swept area might be found there. But what if the difference in brakes isn't in the rotors or pads? What if it is in the hydraulic actuation, brake line diameter, caliper construction, piston diameter, or some other detail partially enabled by the deeper offset of the wheels which are 3/4" wider? Thicker rotor mass, for heat absorption or dissipation, would not be reflected in swept area citations.
Ford opens up the F-600 for upfitter inspection on measuring day in early September. Perhaps more information will be made available then. I would like to know if the difference in brake performance is incremental or monumental. Is the difference worth having to have a Class A license in order to tow a trailer weighing as little as 4,000 lbs.?
So I finally got a dealer to be able to price my truck out...does this seem right?!?!? The exact same F450 limited went up $4,200 from an identical 2019. Jeeez!
2019 same options $90,145
2020 same options $94,370

Wow, that's ridiculous. In the grand scale of things very little changed. Nowhere near enough to justify that. Id say that the changes warranted a 1000-1500 price increase MAX. The only thing of real substance was the transmission and I have my doubts that is going to change very much. Even more ridiculous when you consider that ford is now in last place when it comes to capability.
I am hoping the changes from the F550 are more than brakes and slightly larger tires and wheels. Ford mentioned upgraded driveline components also but have given no details. Would hope for upgraded frame and springs also.
