These caps sit really close to the wheel. I just thought they looked Kool. The fun of altering what FORD built. The other problem is these are outtie rims so the stock caps probably won't work.
Although this thread is nearing 3 years old I just discovered it today and read it all the way through. Now I'm subscribed. I'm about 70 (+/-) miles straight west of you; between Kingdom City and Columbia. I like your panel and the work you've been able to accomplish on it.
fwiw; I have a 1948 F-1 panel truck that I bought 49 years ago. It's currently undergoing the last transformation in my lifetime. If it gets rebuilt again it'll be by my daughter and her husband after I've left this planet.
Harrier and I have never met in person but plan to after I've fully recovered from Covid. Maybe we can all get together sometime.
My experience is only with F-1's but maybe I can be of help on your F-100's sometime.
Hate to hear you've got COVID. Wish we'd get rid of it once and for all. Bad timing as next weekend is the Ozark Mountain Run in Branson. Harrier, ArtScott, and a few others will be in attendance. Art and Joe will be bringing their trucks.
My 56 F100 is almost finished at the bodyshop but won't be ready this year.
I've really gotta get back on the 53 Panel but my SIL's 67 F100 has got my shop jammed up, as you can see the panel's out in the elements. I've also got a 56 Panel that needs to get done. The red Avatar is how I envision the 56 turning out.
Whenever my panel truck (named Clarence) gets back on the road I'll be attending the Ozark Mountain Run. I hope that's next summer (2023). I get their notification postcards but Clarence has been undrivable since June 2018. Every year I say "next summer." I just looked through the pix from last year and hope to see pix from this year soon.
In '18 I was going to have the rotten floors replaced in "a couple of months" by a very talented fabricator. Scope creep set in and now it's still not done and I've spent twice (maybe 3 times) as much as the truck's value. Doesn't matter though; it'll never be for sale. Meredith gets it in my will so it'll be her problem then. She drove it to high school a few times (she's 42 now) and went with me to many car shows, cruises, and weekend trips in it. She's wanted it since she was tiny.
On the Covid front: I've had worse winter colds. I'm just about back to full strength but sweetie (Sherry) has it now. She's getting better every day though. I agree that I hope we can get past it and never have it again.
Anyway; sorry for the hijack. Now back to your fascinating build thread.
Well you do have other projects going on. Keep plugging away.
I'm kinda messing around with the 60 4X4, am waiting for the machine shop to rebuild my heads for the 56 and I'm wiring up and then plumbing my 60 Gal air compressor that I bought a couple of years ago and never hooked up.
Wow! Poor ole Panel just sitting. Had a set back on my 56 project and the super hot weather didn't entice me to get outside to work on it but it's there patently waiting. Maybe I'll at least get the windshield in before winter.
