More frame progress...w/pics
Welded on rear shock mounts and repainted rear end:
Welded up the cross member where a PO torched out the old mount. Cut pieces out of flat bar stock and welded her in then painted:
Avoiding the hot sun any way you can
Installed rebuilt springs (new main leafs, removed every other leaf in pack):

New (used) Hangers front and rear:

Installed castor shims under the springs...one of my helpers lending a foot to the photo:

I'll post up some more in just a bit...feels good to get stuff done!
Install grease cap-

Felt washer-

Pack lower bearing-

Installing spindle that I had new bushings pressed in and honed at the machine shop, note lower bearing installed flat side up. I ended up taking her back off later to install a few shims as there was just some slight play in the spindle up and down. Two shims did the trick. The shims went between the spindle and top of axle:

greased pin slides right in turned it so the slot will allow for lock pin to go in:

Just need to put in the lock pin and nut, pump in some grease and it is was all done!

I'll have more updates later like the disc brake install.
Your frame is looking good! I wish I had the patience to go through the front suspension like you are doing instead of throwing a Mustang II in there immdeiately. I'm very curious how your rebuilt stock front end will drive vs. what I have.
What's that your little guy is helping with in that last pic? I'm hoping it's a grease gun & not a propane torch - good to see you are getting well supervised on this project - it helps everything go so much faster.
Have over there!

I am hoping I make it to the "driving" stage someday. I bought the truck in a pile of parts and it has taken me several years just to get to this stage!
Yeah, that is a grease gun my 14yo is putting together.

The helper in all the other pics is my 6 year old. He is usually the one that wants to help me. He is the pic in my avatar too back when he was two years old sanding a hood.
