Yes, no rust through except a silver dollar size hole in the drivers side inner fender. With everything out I could pick the rear of the Panel up myself so I put a heavy duty saw horse under the rear body support and put the frame and wheels back on the ground. Now I’ve just got to figure out how to lift the front of the body up to slide the frame out from underneath the body.
The side bolts that hold the plywood, side runners and front end cap. They are pictures 1 and 6. There are also a few in the back but no end cap on them.
I am John. ALL the bolts are out and the back is off the frame sitting on a heavy duty saw horse. Just gotta pick up the front off the chassis and roll the chassis out from underneath the body. I’m going to change the Dana rear end to a 9” and I’ve ordered new shackles and mounts for the rear springs. Also need to repair both Cab mounts (one is cracked the other is loose). After the chassis repairs I’ll clean and POR15 the frame then final mount the engine, trans and power steering. I also want to clean up the body’s under carriage and undercoat everything. Then it’ll be time to roll it back under the body.
Have had to hang around the house lately so I decided to experiment. I’d read about using CLR on patina vehicles and decided to give it a test on the bottom of my doors that need to be repaired.
Was surprised to see that the Panel had been both a Yellow and Red beside the Blue Green it seems to have been originally. All three colors Red Blue Green Yellow
It doesn't surprise me that the original color wasn't meadow green BJ, Mine started out the same color, must have been very popular back then. Maybe abe was in the color department for Ford...lol
Little more done now that parts came in. Thank goodness for MidFifty! A little better that when I took them apart.... See post 73 Cleaned, painted & new parts installed
