The other thing that I've used even more is the International Service Manual which I've posted here before but can't find. Others may have posted it too. Never thought you might need it, sorry.
All the necessary sections are printed out and I keep them in a binder on the workbench. It's the bible and I can check off items or write in the margin any notes this way. Somewhere in this thread, I think it's in an image. (Edit, post 163 when I was installing the bearings but showing the lint-free towels I use.)
One other book you may want to look for is the PC/ED manual for your year.
You can find it in the Ford workshop DVDs also.
The PC/ED manual is a back book about 1 1"2 thick and had a lot of the testing steps.
It's limited to the Engine and Emissions. It's can be very handy. I found mine on Ebay
It's good you mentioned this book. It originally came with my purchase of the 2 large green books, but I had forgotten about it. Just found it!

Thanks. I have the software manual. Not sure how much difference than this, but this is great that I don't have to run a software to view it.

I just got one of the bay. Interesting that they're very inexpensive, and there are many books that listed for F650, not F250 or F350. I wonder if they're a same thing. There are also books that are not listed for any Fx50, but the years are 2008, 2009, 2010. I think they're mostly the same. What do you think?
Its the Powertrain Control / Emissions Diagnosis manual.
Thanks Jack. I just bought a hard copy. Would be good just to scan through when I have nothing to do such as waiting for the better half doing shopping ( I wonder if this is the kin of book for that, or all square blocks, steps and diagrams). I also just found a soft copy for the year 2004 (just google it)
Regarding " ( I wonder if this is the kin of book for that, or all square blocks, steps and diagrams)", it's really funny for me, I just realized I can just open the digital files to see what it's like :-)

The Black Book is a little of both. Tou can find some really interesting stuff.
In the hard copy the front half of the book explains systems.
BTW : The reason I called it the Black Book is that the hard copies tend to be black covers.
5 years ago the guts of the turbo were frozen and substantial rust had occurred below the unison ring, but back then I cleaned it and re-assembled it. During the current engine project I knew I'd probably purchase a new OEM turbo, but decided to inspect the existing one. Today I opened the hot side; there was more rust, the vanes were stuck in about 3/4 open position and the unison ring required a hammer and screw driver to free it. So...I performed last rites on this turbo. XDP now has my order for the replacement.
3 months ago I replaced the glow plug harnesses. This morning I inspected the main engine wire harness and the fuel injectors harness. They're both kinda ratty looking. Auto Nation will be sending me replacements.
I replaced both harnesses last year and wrapped them with Tesa heat tape and added loom in high wear areas and had to move some of the clips to get them to fit right. That crank sensor is a booger to route the wire to without removing a bunch of AC stuff. Good thing your engine is out.

Now that you've used that tape, was it worth the effort and do you recommend it? How many rolls needed?
I used a little over 2 rolls and I think I got 3 rolls for about $25 off Amazon. Yes it was well worth the extra coverage and looks much cleaner. A few of the clips and push holders are not in exactly the right place so when you cut the existing tape off it’s nice to have good quality tape to wrap them back with. Audi and BMW supposedly use this tape on their harnesses.
There's a thread here somewhere where we talked about the different types of tape. Everyone has a different view and technique based on what I experienced with early Mustang restoration.
Not that anyone is going to want to watch through the raw version of this video if I ever publish it, not sure it's worthwhile doing as a video. You'll need at least 2 rolls.
About 2 minutes in I show some different versions, 10 minutes in I'm rewrapping the main harness. The problem doing any of this is with the hardened insulation you have the risk of cracking it during all the movement. I have my original harness at the farm and someday I may rewire it with silicone insulated wire so it never hardens.
