Hey, JackalAR (and everyone else), I just installed the 10K BTs (with fans) in my '18 XL/STX gasser yesterday and I've had no issues from an electronic standpoint. Everything works as before...of course, I can't read very well and only ordered a single pair, so until Amazon brings me a second pair (which should happen tomorrow), I'm the guy with bright lights only in the upper housings! Still, that's quite an improvement over stock...mine locked into the same position as the stock bulbs after much persuasion. I didn't cut the nubs as some have because I wanted to make sure they didn't rotate in the housings when I go over washboard roads.
Thanks again to the OP for the suggestion...the BTs are well worth the time and money!
Good deal, still loving mine, got to use them (and high beam) quite a bit Friday night. No flashes yet due to re-aiming. With stockers I got flashed constantly. I think the tab trimming is done to adapt a 9005(?) into the fog light housing. I did this on my 2001 F-150 with bambi mode way back in the day. The only tricky one to install for me, aside from having the old gasket in the way, was the lower driver's side. I had to face away from the truck with arm behind me to twist it in/out.

Ahh, OK...still, I can see where some frustrated folks (like me) would've tried it on the fixtures to get 'em into the housings more easily! Those suckers are hard to twist into and out of!

Been there. I've since discovered that getting the proper 4257 replacement LED turn signal is the way to go. Correct fit from the beginning. Got switchbacks at GTR after having Alla that I had to dremel away some base material to make fit. FYI the correct bulbs also have nubs. But they're in the spot they're supposed to be in. I think SuperBright LED told me that the correct term for the nub was "locking tab".
As far as using 9005 for fogs, did that last week. They went in securely but didn't seem to want to twist in as easily as bulbs marketed as strictly fog light bulbs with the base molded at a right angle. But that may have just been the brand and their quality control. For me the trick was to remove the steel shields that are behind the fogs so that you can see exactly what you're doing instead of reaching blindly in and hoping for the best.
The GTR(?) license plate LEDs from HeadlightRevolution were also a nice compliment. Still waiting on the reverse light LEDs for standard taillights to come down in price or go on sale, then will also pickup the cargo lamp LEDs.

A little heads up. I bought switchbacks directly from GTR and saved $10 over purchasing the same bulb from HR.
Ford must find the biggest and strongest guy on the assy line to install the oem bulbs in the head lamp housing lol .I had to use a 3/4 wrench over the bulb body to get them out .

So glad I'm not the only one who found that out...at first, I thought my upper body strength had dwindled to zero! I ended up standing on my Ranch Hand grille to get the new ones secured.

I used a 4 foot step ladder. I found that leaning over the fender and using my right hand on the driver side lights and my left hand on the passenger side let me reach in from a better angle and have more leverage. But they sure do seem to be in pretty tight initially.
The head lamp bulbs made a night and day difference over the stock ones .Poncho I do not know if you were the original installer of the BT bulbs but thank you for following the tread with up dates how the bulbs have performed over the years .

You're welcome. I can't say with 100% certainty that I was the first here with Beamtech. But I started this thread and have used the bulbs since around Christmas 2017.
