Always great to hear that someone had the same experience as me well after I began this topic. Congrats on installing them the easy way on your first attempt. I was one of the guys who originally did grille removal and all the headaches that came with it. But after trading my 2017 for a 2019 I had every headlight, signal light and front marker light swapped out in 20 minutes or so.
Other than the headlight swap, all other bulbs require changes in FORSCAN (or whatever you call it?) I'd love to switch out more lights, but never read up on how to get changes made in the computer.
I've had my Beamtechs for about a month and so far, they've been great... but I did have the typical radio reception issues. For the Beamtech-ers like me with AM/FM radio interference, I contacted them through their website and told them the issues I was having. It took a couple of days for a response, but they stated they'd be glad to help and asked for my Amazon order #, my address, and which bulbs were causing interference. I replied that I expect all six bulbs were complicit in causing the reception trouble. They responded within the next day to say that the "decoders" were on the way. Two days later, the decoders arrived well-packaged and with a sturdy appearance and feel. They do not seem cheap. I just finished installing them this morning and they work as advertised...no more reception issues. They are bulky so some zip strips were very helpful. HTH.

You'll definitely have hyper flash if you change turn signals to LED. The hyper flash is in the instrument cluster only, from the exterior the lights are flashing at normal speed. So the options are to add resistors or get into the BCM with FORScan. Here's a link on how:

I wonder if the ferrite filters would of worked for you.
The OEM Amber are a nice color, bright running lights & work great lol
why hassle with LED, hyper flash & reprogramming issues.
Because to some of us it's not that big of a deal to tune the hyper flash out and we like the look of a switchback bulb.
Here's another question: why do people who don't feel the need or want to do a particular modification question those that do? Do what you see fit and enjoy the truck. Let others do the same.
In my very first attempt I did the grille and headlight housing removal. What a pain. As with most things, time, experience and reading what others did on these forums make life easier. I learned that the filler neck on the washer tank was removable on the driver side. Big time saver along with removing the air intake snorkel on the passenger side. No more messing with grille. Last go round, I removed just that snorkel. Had all 4 headlights, both signal lights and front side marker bulbs changed in about 15-20 minutes.
As far as longevity, I'll be at 2 years with Beamtech in about 6 weeks. So far, so good. Same bulbs are in the second truck now.
My 2012 (Yeah I know I'm playin in the 2017 forum but it was the best forum for the LED headlights I could find) has the air filter box and coolant tank on the drivers side. I looked it over but couldn't see an easier way to install without removing the grill and lens.
Something that never crossed my mind until talking to my brother recently... Will led's keep the headlight lens clean when it snows? It's one of those things I never even considered until he brought it up.
Something else. I have driven the truck twice at night over the last few days. The first night I didn't have anyone bright me and I came across a lot of traffic. The second night I had two vehicles flash their brights at me. I don't think the lights are pointed too high but I'm going to have my son drive my truck and I'll drive towards him in another vehicle just to make sure. Just thought it was odd that encountering more traffic the first night and no brights then the next not as many cars but two flashes was odd.

There have been some complaints here that the LED doesn't generate enough heat to keep the lens clear in snowy weather. I don't doubt those reports. But I have a beater so I don't drive the truck as much as I probably could. The couple of times that I have been out in truly miserable, 15-20 MPH driving weather I did stop to clean them off once in a 13 mile trip home. But that was to clean off ALL the lights because snow had swirled up and stuck to the tail lights also, making me not as visible as I'd like to be in the storm.
As far as being flashed, I have very few times in almost 2 years. But I went to adjust my lights downward before a vacation last March when I knew the front end would be pointing upward a little due to towing a trailer. Turns out my lights were adjusted all the way upward right off the dealer lot.

This is the main reason I did not order led with my 2020. They do not generate enough heat to keep lenses clean. I live in the snow belt and don't need to add keeping headlights clear in a snow squall. Cj
I was trying to avoid fanned models just of failure concerns and really wanted the Beamtechs. These test results convinced me to go with the Techmax though. The higher light output on both low and high beam (~3 times), slightly warmer color temperature, light pattern and CREE LEDs were the bigger selling points. So far, I'm very pleased.
FWIW, these are the 8k lumen Beamtechs, not the new 10k lumen version. Those CANBUS adapters look pretty nice too for no cost.

Thank to both of you for the reply. I know I've been in heavy wet snows where the halogens wouldn't keep the lens clean. I don't drive my truck much in the winter. It mostly comes out when I'm going up to my hunting property and pulling my side by side or when I'm pulling skid loaders. I'll have to pay attention and make sure to post back if I see any issues.
My lights were adjusted REALLY low. When I put the new bulbs in the beam was barely above the top of the lowest panel on my garage door with the truck about 25-30 feet from the door. I adjusted them up to the center of the second panel. When I'm behind a car, I'm not lighting up the interior on low so I don't think they're pointed too high but I'm still gonna go out and have a look for myself. My eyes are REALLY sensitive to light when night driving so it they don't bother me, they shouldn't bother others.
Yeah, I get free for sure. But for $8, I'd prefer not to have struggle placing those things. They look fairly big for tight quarters.
Sure, but for me it wouldn't have mattered. I have dual batteries and almost zero room on either side without removing the lamps (yes, I tried removing the washer filler neck, etc.). The decoders weren't difficult to deal with by any means, but some zip strips were certainly very handy.
