If you install them correctly Beamtech H-13 fanless work perfectly. You have to read the manual to make sure the led's are positioned correctly, but it's not rocket surgery
Well, you must've had some from a better batch (or was at least looked at by Quality Control). I tried clocking them according to the manual, and various other clock positions, and no joy with getting a decent pattern. Plus, like I stated previously, they were shoddily constructed, where I had to reinforce them to prevent the elements from rattling around in the headlight housing (causing jumpy output, very annoying). Had they been left as installed no telling how long they would've survived before collapsing in pieces. Lot of time and effort spent, when I should've just stopped trying and cut my losses. It's more a matter of losing precious time and effort versus the cost lost.
Next time I decide to pursue LED bulbs I'll go with some that are guaranteed and well made. Sure, it'll cost more, but again - time and effort; I don't want to have install but once.
Mine didn't need clocked with the set screw, just install the correct tab in the correct slot and twist to tighten. That is a "clocking" of a sort, but not using the set screw.
I did find it much easier to remove the headlight housing to install them, rather than trying to get them in correctly with the housing in place.
Oh, I thought you said $20. I'm not calling them cheap LED's, they've been in for seven years, and they are ON more than they are OFF. I can only imagine how many hours are on these, so don't think I wasted my cash lol.
Psst., btw, Amazon has them for $38.99/pair https://www.amazon.com/s?k=beamtech+...l_7os82k3vkb_e
I did say $20. A pair for around $40 means they're $20 each.
Compare that to the high quality and well engineered bulbs that are $100 each and it's easy to see why JoeUser had the experience he had.

I know you said $20 lol (but they are sold in pairs), and then you come back with $45...and back to $40, don't want to mislead others about the prices your posting. Perhaps Joe had a bad set, it happens. This is a prime example of where people only hear the negatives and cannot hear the positives. Take a survey and you'll find more folks are satisfied with their BeamTechs than dissatisfied. Even if I got a year out of these lamps, I'm still pleased with the output they provide. Plus I should mention that there is not a fan cooling these LEDS, silent and efficient. So if you want the "$100 each" bulbs...then go for it. But you'll be the one "wasting your cash".
I'm going to chime in here with personal experience on my 2019 F250 XLT 6.2 gas Truck. When I bought my truck in early 2021 it had the factory yellowish dim AF lamps. I was used to my 1999 F250 with modified halogen bulbs with ceramic housing and they were BRIGHT. Off road use only.... I could not stand not seeing at night being 65 but with excellent eyesight, I don't wear glasses except sunglasses and safety glasses. I installed HIKARI 2021 Acme-X H13/9008 LED Bulbs upgraded bulbs. They were from Amazon and expensive compared to the the halogen bulbs on my previous truck. I think they were about $85 each. Plugged right in existing sockets without modification. They had the fan included in the VERY well built aluminum heat sink housing(s). They are Excellent and have been working constantly since they were installed. They are on with the Bambi headlight mod and I leave them on automatic always. Always on during the daytime. So longevity wise they have paid for themselves if they died tomorrow, Brightness is perfect and wider beam than stock but I don't get flashed by oncoming traffic and I live in a rural part of Tennessee with narrow roads. I could not be happier with the Hikari LED bulbs and if needed I would absolutely buy them again. They are quiet, I don't hear the fan running ever. Happy Customer.
