I tried this and it failed to work for me. It seems that Ford used a 1/2 inch drive impact wrench on my 2018 headlight bulb install. Joking aside, it should not require removal of batteries, coolant overflow tanks or fender liners to gain access to a simple expendable item on a truck.
I'll be trying again tomorrow to replace the battery side bulbs and the lower bulb on the driver's side. I wish there was a tool like a plumbing basin wrench that could grab the ears of the bulb and facilitate applying torque.
I used a 6" adjustable wrench to get mine out. Just make sure you remove the wiring harness first. If the plastic on the bulb cracks I figured no big deal I'm replacing them anyway.
I removed the snorkel. Wasnt very difficult once it was out of the way.
Funny I actually tried a basin wrench. I'm a master plumber. It didnt fit well.

The wiring harness is where I had the most difficulty. Had a hell of a time removing it until I got some pliers out to remove the connector.
‘yes, unless you get flicker or radio static and then need to call/email beamtech and they will send decoders to put inline that will solve it..... almost plug n play
I found that a set of Irwin Vise-Grip 6 inch pliers, [GV6 / 4935351], is the perfect tool to gently grab and apply rotational torque to get stubborn headlight bases out of their housings.

I didn’t get FM Radio static from the 9005 bulbs I put in the fogs.
The static came from the Four H13 LED Bulbs that I put in the HeadLamps .... which the inline filter / decoders Fixed.
Question for anyone that installed these that live in an area that gets snow. Do they throw off enough heat to melt the snow off the headlights while driving? The JW Speaker led headlights i installed in my XJ lets snow build up.
A few comment, a few questions, and a good link.....
I have a 2017 Platinum. I know it has the OEM headlights and tail lamps. Does this mean the fogs are halogen or are they also LED? Are the backup lights halogen or LED since those are part of the tail lamp system?
I find the OEM LED headlights to be very harsh blue light. My other vehicles have OEM Xenon headlights and I find those systems to be far superior. I suspect it is because the color temperature of OEM Xenon systems are closer to 4500K while those of the OEM LED systems are in the 5000-6000K range. The problem is a blue/white light tends to cause glare and washes out everything. The 4500K Xenon systems have more yellow in them so the contrasting light is actually easier to see and there is much less glare.
We just bought a Subaru Ascent that has OEM halogens. I plan on upgrading the headlights to a HID Xenon system rated at 4300K.
Xenon Depot makes what looks like a good system for about $150.
Note that Xenon Depot also has a LED fog light kit, but they're basically HID headlight systems.
I'd rather avoid the expense of using a HID headlight system bulbs for my truck's fog lights however. The blue/white LEDs are going to have to suffice, especially since the OEM LED headlights are also that way. Are these the correct Beamtech fanless 9005s?
.I got the H10 for the fogs but they are the same bulb as the 9005 you linked except direct from beamtech they are $25.99. Replacement is easy if you lay down and look up under where the fog light is there is a space to reach up and twist them out.

And how does one change out the bulb in the foglights? I didn't see any photos on this thread?
The fog lights on your Platinum are LED and these are the ones that most people want but they don’t want to pay the price for them. Second choice would be the Morimoto XB’s but again, most don’t want to pay the price so many people resort to a LED bulb replacement and any problems that might come with said bulb replacement into the factory halogen housing. In closing, if you have a Platinum, the only bulbs that are not LED from the factory are the license plate bulbs and the interior vanity mirrors.

Just installed the Morimoto LED fog lamps a couple days ago instead of replacing OEM halogen with just LED bulbs. Took the Headlight Revolution YouTube video as evidence I'd get a real fog pattern, which is what I'm after. We've actually had some fog here the past few days (not super thick) so gave them a whirl. I dialed the cutoff to exactly where the OEM were on the shop door. I'm surprised at the low level light output even tho' I don't expect or want 'driving lights' in a fog configuration. Adjustment is EZ so could mess with that but the level seems correct, just not bright. Right after I ordered these from Stage 3 I noticed they're offered in amber now.. might have been my preference.
Don't take this as the last word on these, others might chime in with great approval of the Morimoto. I might like them more if/when I have to run them solo with parking lights only, ala blizzard conditions. I do know they're not as bright as the OEM LED Fogs in my buddies '17 dually.
