I'm really interested in this conversion but if possible would like to keep my housings but with a new lens. I'm guess due to variations in housings that's not possible but curious.

Thanks.
Sorry fellas, my notifications were not going to my inbox, didn't realize there were questions. yes I can do the setup with the LEDs, that's not an issue.

AND those kits are even higher priced than the one Tony is offering..... get them while they last and last and LAST!

Hey Platboss,
Tony sells his kits for nearly 1/2 that price with shipping!

I am glad I am not the only one that thought that was very rude.

Don't think his comment is worth getting all huffy. Nothing wrong with throwing out options. People can decide for themselves. It's an open market.
It's not Tony's thread anyways. Go back to the first post.

Tony, you have a customer on the Excursion forum who has a problem with aiming his lights. Part of the problem is the lamp housing / header panel model year mismatch... and part of the problem appears to be intrinsic to how you set up the round *thing* in the rectangular housing. (*pardon my French, but I don't know the correct term for the round thing... is it projector?)

Once you set the round thing, whatever it is called, is it adjustable? This poster reports that it isn't, and he is struggling with tilting light patterns that are clocked cockeyed in the housings, rather than being level. I'll quote his entire post here, so that the entire context is retained, including his praise for you. The entire post presents issues that anyone considering this mod can learn from, and also presents an opportunity to see how this gets resolved.

After all the trouble I had in getting the headlights off the truck, I ended up taking it to a shop to finish what I started. Thanks to NorthwesternCowboy for the link to some excellent instructions!!
Link to Instructions

But, there are 2 issues that I wanted report and checking if others had experienced the same.

1. We had a very hard time getting them to aim in the right place. It is not done yet. When the headlights are flush mounted on the header panel, the "Low-beam" cut line was at ~12' from the ground (Almost at the top of a box truck) with the truck standing 25' awayl. We adjusted the screw on the housing to as low as it would let us and still the best we could bring it down was ~6-7' from the ground. I couldn't have driven it that way as these awesome bright lights would have blinded everyone The only way that we could bring the cut line down was to actually mount the headlights tilted forward/down. At the maximum tilt forward, the cut line is now just a little below the line of the headlights.

2. The light pattern is aligned a couple of degrees to the left, meaning towards oncoming traffic. I will try to adjust the headlight mounting some more to see if these can be corrected. But, just wanted to pick your brains to see if you could give me some more ideas of how to get these light aimed right.

This is what I was targeting on the final outcome of the beam pattern.

This is the current pattern that I have. This needs to be further adjusted. There is a lot of light that is being thrown on the oncoming traffic as well as towards the shoulder. Also there needs to be some rotational adjustment that needs to be done to make the top cutline be more horizontal.

Headlight is mounted at full forward tilt and not aligned with the body

Headlights are pointing slight left of where they should be.

Yup, Prakash is a great dude, working to figure out the rotation for him. Not sure if it came from the header panel mod, or a mis calf in my adjustment, but either way getting it fixed for him.

I got my lights installed yesterday and also had a rotation issue. I hit up Tony however and he explained how to make the adjustment and it was very easy to do.

Here are mine after installing and setting beam height yesterday. Rotation was still pretty bad. I didn't get the best camera angle; the line across the wall here is actually a horizontal reference. Also ignore the light scatter, that isn't the HIDs that's coming from the LED turn signal/marker bulbs.

Today I adjusted the rotation and they're pretty much dead on. Very pleased with the headlights!
