You also have a v8 so getting any brackets or what ever will be cake if you need to get.
Cement on the pool, little late on fixing the pool no? LOL
Car port that's nice, is it going where the other one was the wind took out think behind the house garage?
Yea the heat has been holding me back on a few little things on the trucks and the yard.

I'll be putting new ball joints in my F150 this coming up weekend, I held off last weekend because I didn't know what the hurricane was going to do and about getting it aligned on that Monday.
Putting the engine hoist to good use.
Carport going up.
Man I wish we had put this in 20 years ago!
Old Ford loaded down with 120 deck boards. That pressure treated stuff is heaving, she was squatting quite a bit, even with my F250 leafs in the back!

The wife and I went out for dinner to Char Grill and took the truck.
First time she has been in it since the Over Drive install, carpet & AC working.
Said the AC works really good as I had to turn the fan down to its lowest setting.
She also took down MPH & RPM readings in direct & overdrive so I could post them.
Some of them did not compute right, same RPM & MPH for 45 & 50?, so will need to recheck them.
The other day had an issues with the front tank not using fuel?
Remembered the switching valve defaults to the rear tank if no power to valve.
Found a blown fuse and tracked that to a splice I did not put enough liquid tape on.
Got that all fixed and just to / from work and a little drive with the wife last night used more than half tank of the 16 gal

Next thing I need to do is look deeper into why I am only getting high 14.s to mid 15's MPG with this truck, it is killing me!

Hey 14mpg sounds good to me, more than I can dream of! lol
I haven't gotten the old car out for a ride to Char Grill in a long time, actually I think since last time we went as a group with a few guys from my car club. I'm ready to do that again once I finish all this work around here.
Will see how I feel tomorrow, killed myself doing yard work the last 2 days, the truck has an exh. leak some where up front?
I have not looked but maybe the Y pipe has come loose as all the pipes / muffler where like new when I installed the system as part of the rebuild.
Dave ----
How did everyone fare with the storm the other day? I had some washout from all the rain and lost power for 17 hours but all things considered thats not much to complain about.
Have to see how hot its going to be and if not to bad may check timing, have not put a light to it since I got it and maybe look into leaning out the high speed rod & seat.
On the storm we just had heavy rain and some wind that was it guess we were lucky.
Dave ----
The rattle out back was loose shocks, going to have a talk to the guy that installed them LOL
Checking the oil I no longer have the milk shake on the stick & oil fill cap so that good.
I should put the tanks evp vacuum hose back on and see if the milk shake comes back.
I also see a have a PS fitting leaking at the box I need to look into but had to go to work to run 2 loads of LP.
The pipe line where we load was down for a total of 3 days out of 4 so it was catch up time.

Dave, you're the only AMC guy I know so I thought I'd run this by you. I'm thinking of tossing the flathead inline 6 in the Studebaker and upgrading to a V8. Nothing against Chevy, but I loathe the "throw a SBC in it" mentality that is so common in the old car hobby. Studebaker V8 engines in running condition are not easy to find locally, or even nationally, and expanding my search to also include Packard didn't net much more. So now I widened it to include AMC and found a 304 nearby. I'm thinking that will be a good little motor for the Silverhawk and maybe do an adapter plate with a 700R4 behind it so I get overdrive. Do you have any thoughts on it, before I pull the trigger? The motor is described as "a strong runner" which the owner has pulled out of a Jeep CJ (I believe upgrading to an LS motor).
