Has anyone ever actually gotten anything from Keith @ F-Trucks?
Any secrets for doing business with this guy?
I have now sent him two emails and called the phone # 8 times.
I have spoken to him twice saying he’ll get me some pictures and a price. That was days ago.
Kurt, Have you heard from Keith @ F-Trucks yet?
Been working crazy hours and have not had time to look for any gas tank / door parts yet but should have time this weekend.
Been so busy at work I did not have time to take last weeks trash to the dump.
Today was rare and got home early so trash was done today.
That is when I found out the AC in the truck did not work
This AC system has been giving me fits since I got it working, works for a week or 3 then stops.
Each time it was low on charge as it was this time
My AC tech son took a look at it with his black light, I had dye in the system, and found a leak we hope.
A few weeks back I put a little more charge in to get the low side up to mid 50 psi and it was cooling pretty good till now.
When I added the charge I also installed 134a adapters and I guess I did not tighten 1 of them up
He put 2 cans of 134a in and said it may need a 3rd but it is blowing cool again but for how long ...............

Hadn’t heard anything from him in over a week so Decided to give him a call last night. He claimed to have sent me some pics but I never got them. Said he’d send again last night. Still nothing. I do have a lead on an ‘83 that a guy is parting out in Pinehurst. Waiting to see if he sells the bed to make it easier for me to get at the Xmembers.
sounds like you’re getting closer to a final fix on the A/C
did you get the spare tire stuff installed?

Hope that pans out for you.
No I have not work has been crazy and I forgot I had the parts till the other day when I walked on the other side of the truck.
When I got home I pulled the parts out of the bed as I had a show last Saturday and I dont see them unless I go down the far side and I dont go down that side much.
Later today if my eye is up to it and for sure tomorrow I will clean them up a little more, get a coat of paint on them and get installed.
When the paint is drying I will look for the fuel parts I have.

So today I finally got around to painting the engine bay of the Studebaker. One pass with the detail gun to get the hard to reach areas, and then I went to check to see how much paint I had left. Grabbed the lid to unscrew it, but it was not screwed on at all, must have just been a 1/4 turn cross threaded or something. Immediately popped off and the gun slipped from my hand and hit the cement! Paint all over my boots and my leg and in the process of cleaning up, all over my hands and arms. Worse than that, now the gun leaks. Just a cheap Harbor Freight gun that I have owned for about 10 years, so I guess it's no big deal. I was able to finish up the painting with my regular size gun. What a mess
My old Mustang has this kind of rough miss when I first start it, usually goes away within 10-15 seconds, or the first time I rev it up a little. So I have never paid it any attention. These past couple of weeks though, it has lasted longer, mostly will last the entire time that I back up the driveway into the road, and when I put it in drive, and then only go away once my RPMs hit about 1500. But today it was even worse, and for the first time ever it did it after warmed up, about 5 miles of driving, while idling through a parking lot. So I guess it is obvious that it's time for a tuneup. Good news is, the current setup as been in place since 2011, so that is a good long time for it all to last. Considering we have a 300 mile trip to SC coming up in 2 weeks, I need to tackle this right away. So tonight I ordered new cap & rotor and new plug wires, and tomorrow I'll go get some plugs from Autozone. I don't know for sure what to get but I think I will just remove one of what I have now and get 8 more of them, they've worked great for 10 years so why change right?
Just the normal copper type plugs.
Them fancy ones don't run right in our older motors.
If you have a compression tester and have time when doing the tune up I would do that test too.
Not that there is anything wrong with the motor but so you know what it is now.

I dunno about that, I have fancy ones in there now apparently. Autolite Platinum APP45. I just ordered 8 more. Speaking of compression testing, I found my notes from last time:
Then I guess you are one if the lucky ones not to have issues.
#4 looks a little low. Is it a screw in type tester or rubber end you hold into the hole?
It would be nice to see if any of them changed.
Dave ----
I have the screw in type. It has 14mm size with an adapter for 18mm threads, which is what I have on the Mustang.
Is there a number that they should be? I know you want them all within a few psi of each other. I thought like 10% which would be "close enough". But yeah I would like it if that #4 was 10 higher. Probably a rocker arm tightened a tad bit too much.
But speaking of numbers this was from a compression test on the 55 Chevy a few years ago. Much lower numbers.
No numbers it should be just as you said like 10% of the next ones.
May be that run to SC will help?
Dave ----
So this is interesting, #4 came up and matches good with the rest now. My best guess is maybe I didn't have the thingy screwed in all the way to seal it good when I tested compression back in 2012. But disconcerting now is that #1 is much lower. It is the easiest one to get to and therefore the least likely for you to mess up the test, and I tested it twice just to be sure (the first time it only read 140!). But it's reading 30 pounds less than the others.
Could put a few squirts of oil in it and test again to see if it comes up.
or a leak down test would show too.
I don't think I would worry to much about it.

I was kinda thinking the same thing, squirt some oil and see if that seals it better. But then even if it is the rings, I am not going to tear into it. I'll just keep driving it til the wheels fall off! lol
By the way, after the fiasco I got into when starting to paint the Studebaker engine bay, I did eventually finish up. Pulled off all the masking tape and put a few things back on like the voltage regulator and starter solenoid. It looks pretty good, there is some noticeable orange peel but once the motor is in there and all the hoses and wires run I don't think it will be much of a big deal. I went back over the frame and cross member with brush on rustoleum "topside" gloss black afterwards, because I had some overspray in a few spots.
