Wow ! They are proud of that one.. I think that the EZ kit I got, was around $200 to $250, and came with everything, built for the '68 . The wire was also tinned copper, which is used on marine applications, because tin does not corrode like copper. ?? I am not a chemist, but when you go to the marine store, and pay Jewelry prices for stuff, the wire is classed as "Tinned", or tin coated, and supposed to be better for wet conditions...

You are correct. The copper with corrode. Tinning the copper wire protects it from corrosion. Salt air environment is really bad for unprotected copper.

Yeah, I know. I think the difference is, it's exactly like the 79, with all of the correct connectors, and includes all the switches. Still not sure which way I'll go with this.....
I used both the American Autowire and an EZ kit to build the *****'s harness. The only thing I don't like about the EZ kit was the lack of markings on the fuse panel. 21 mini fuses and not one marked to what it does? WTH? Nothing in the instructions either? I've been wanting to call and ask if they have something that shows what is what? If a fuse blows, it will be a real PITA to figure out which one is toast in that little box. Don't recall copper being "tinned". Maybe since this is universal kit it isn't?
The American harness, I basically cut off all the GM connectors to use on the EZ harness. The guy bought both kits(not sure why), but I used what I had in front of me. The EZ fuse panel was already installed when I was brought into the project and was told.."here ya go, make it work".
Little update on the Mack project: It is roadworthy.
That's peculiar, my fuse block was all labeled, as was each wire, every 6" to 8" or so, identifying exactly where the wire was intended to go.. No guessing in the future.. Also, when I first stripped insulation, I thought that they had given me aluminum wire.. but when I cut the wire, and looked at the cut endwise, I could see the copper color under the tinned outside...
The wires were, like any other kit. Just the panel was so small there was no room for any markings. Unlike the Painless kit with the typical big car style fuse panel.

I hate green copper wires.

I was going to take the wifey for a ride tonight but when she opened the passenger side door she asked me, "why is there water on the floor"? I walked around the truck and looked at the floor and then looked under the dash and told her "it's a leaky heater core, no ride tonight".
