Hope you got a chuckle out of my mind's evaluation, but seems to hold true for lots of us old timers. They are now doing all sorts of body parts transplants, kind of like this forum and our old trucks, but I am absolutely certain, that I would not want one of the younger brain transplants. Some new parts to go with this old brain, would have to be my choice. Nothing against you young'ns, but I would not want to go through the next 30 years as a young man. Good luck on that one..

Haven't heard it put that way, but you just described my mind.
Me too.

I hate it when I walk from one place to another and then forget what I was after.
I got nothing done on the truck this weekend, I was too busy playing outside.
At my age, "Getting Lucky" is remembering what I came in this room for, when I get here.
Hope you get back at it soon, the weather's getting nice and its time for a ride in the country.

We're getting some rain this afternoon/evening so I got a little bit of wiring done.

I'm using the original harness with some modifications. The dash wiring is completely intact except for the amp. gauge that was replaced by the volt meter. The harness to the rear of the truck was 95% replaced with heavier gauge wire back to the RV7 connector at the hitch. All of the alternator wiring was removed and replace by a 1 wire alt. I added circuits for a brake controller, inverter, 12 pos. fuse panel and the air compressor.
Okay, wasn't sure. I'm going with an aftermarket harness, wanted to see if you were going that direction. Probably do the Painless one. I'll also probably get the 79 harness, since the dash will be from the 79, and the rest of the truck should match up no problem.
Hey Nukebro, I used the EZ after market wiring harness, it was a snap. I chose the 21 circuit model, with modern fuses and I love the wiring id on each wire, every 6" or so... no confusion later. It only took 2 half days, after morning fishing... priorities you understand.
Wow ! They are proud of that one.. I think that the EZ kit I got, was around $200 to $250, and came with everything, built for the '68 . The wire was also tinned copper, which is used on marine applications, because tin does not corrode like copper. ?? I am not a chemist, but when you go to the marine store, and pay Jewelry prices for stuff, the wire is classed as "Tinned", or tin coated, and supposed to be better for wet conditions...
