AE vs IDS clone
#121
Hey Yahiko, I'm currently paying for (5) IDS licenses annually and one is set to expire (once that happens they stop communicating with the VCM). Can you PM me some info on your clone and does it have 6.0L, 6.4L, 6.7L diesel coverage (most of the clones do not).

Please pester him 😀 I'm hoping you are able to get some kits so I won't have to buy autoenginuity.

Ok I sort of lost track of things. I misplaced the list of who wanted one.
I have 3 coming in this week and will have them ready a day after I check them out.
One thing we found out was that the person I had testing to see how setting up on
Win 10 worked could not get it to work after a lot of tries. So that does leave us
with XP Pro SP3 Win 7 and I think Win 8. In most cases you only need to run v86
when working with the 6.0L but if you are working on newer things you might have
to use the extra software that is shipped with the package and create a Virtual Machine
to run XP on. Also found out that it will not run on XP Home at all.

What is it doing?
With the v98 and up they send you a copy that requires you to use tools like Deep Freeze and VMware.
Seems that everything after and including v98 sets a tag on the hard drive and you can't even downgrade.
The only option I found that works 100% of the time is a wipe and reinstall. The reason for this is that IDS
software is linked to the conputer and not to the VCM or VCM2 that your using. Let me know what it's doing
and we may be able to get it working again.
