I have 2 right now.One is mine and the other I tested to
be sure it works. My supplier seems to be one of the better ones.

Josh if your still interested in that update I need to know what ver
the one you have is running so I can let the supplier know.

I too am very interested in the IDS clone, so I have subscribed to this thread. I have AE on an old laptop running XP but would like to upgrade the laptop to a touch screen Panasonic tough book as there are some good deals on the internet.
Thanks Sean

Most of the IDS versions that go with the clone VCM2s out
there like to run on XP Pro Sp 3 and up.

My Tough Book is running XP Pro embedded so it still gets
some support for updated and what not. (Yes it's a Reg hack)
and not really needed.

Have 6.0 excursion that is my family hauler me wife and 5 kids. Pretty sure I have an injector or two that need replaced. I am desperate to get a reader that can do a dependable contribution test. Don't want to spend money for dealer diagnostics. I have always done my own wrenching due to finances and just being picky. If anyone can tell me of a good source for a 6.0 clone it would be a great help. Side note I purchased a 04 f350 that is a no start right now too. Glutton for punishment I guess.

Hi Yahiko,

I may be interested in a clone as well but I would like to have it run on Windows 7. My goal is to have a netbook in the console and the clone in case of a breakdown.

Any thoughts?

Rob

I have been seen it posed that you can get it to work with 7.
BUT have not been able to get it to work for myself. Also I think
in the same place I had seen that. They had said something about
the way that IDS sets up the network is what causes the problem.
There is a work a round but not having a Win 7 laptop to work with
I can't say one way or the other if it really does.

I still have 1 1 clone that I can sell before I have to reorder. Here is
my one issue. I don't buy them by the case and so don't get the best
price on the units like some of the Flea-bay sellers do. But I do know
that the ones I have do work.

Sean, do you have or can you recommend the clone that will work with my 2002 7.3 and my 2007 6.0?

OBD2 on the 7.3?
If so then what I have would work. Most all the clones
should do the job for anything that uses the OBD2 port.

Sean, I sent a message to "Doctor Panasonic" on Amazon, he sells refurbished Tough Books he says he will load XP Pro on the one I buy, his prices seem good too. Which Tough Book are you using? and do you like it?
Yes I have an OBD2 connection on the 7.3, I have been using AE.

I have a CF -29 that I use with mine. Other than the fact that the touch
screen function has given up it works great.

I have an XP Pro Laptop that I am currently using for AE, so touch screen is not at deciding factor.
I already noticed that you were not using touch screen on your youtube video.

Then you sound set.
I do wished that the touch screen would work.
That would make moving around less work.

I see that Anthony at Superduty Service uses a CF30 touchscreen I may still look into a ToughBook but for now I can use my older laptop.
I am ready what is the next step?
