I too am very interested in the IDS clone, so I have subscribed to this thread. I have AE on an old laptop running XP but would like to upgrade the laptop to a touch screen Panasonic tough book as there are some good deals on the internet.
Thanks Sean

Have 6.0 excursion that is my family hauler me wife and 5 kids. Pretty sure I have an injector or two that need replaced. I am desperate to get a reader that can do a dependable contribution test. Don't want to spend money for dealer diagnostics. I have always done my own wrenching due to finances and just being picky. If anyone can tell me of a good source for a 6.0 clone it would be a great help. Side note I purchased a 04 f350 that is a no start right now too. Glutton for punishment I guess.
I may be interested in a clone as well but I would like to have it run on Windows 7. My goal is to have a netbook in the console and the clone in case of a breakdown.
I have been seen it posed that you can get it to work with 7.
BUT have not been able to get it to work for myself. Also I think
in the same place I had seen that. They had said something about
the way that IDS sets up the network is what causes the problem.
There is a work a round but not having a Win 7 laptop to work with
I can't say one way or the other if it really does.
I still have 1 1 clone that I can sell before I have to reorder. Here is
my one issue. I don't buy them by the case and so don't get the best
price on the units like some of the Flea-bay sellers do. But I do know
that the ones I have do work.
Sean, I sent a message to "Doctor Panasonic" on Amazon, he sells refurbished Tough Books he says he will load XP Pro on the one I buy, his prices seem good too. Which Tough Book are you using? and do you like it?
Yes I have an OBD2 connection on the 7.3, I have been using AE.
Ed
I have an XP Pro Laptop that I am currently using for AE, so touch screen is not at deciding factor.
I already noticed that you were not using touch screen on your youtube video.
Ed
I see that Anthony at Superduty Service uses a CF30 touchscreen I may still look into a ToughBook but for now I can use my older laptop.
I am ready what is the next step?
