I have been trying for 2 weeks to get my STIC IDS to work. Exact same unit as the excellent post by
@CTroxtell above.

I also figured out the method described by CTroxtell on my own but I cannot get the "power balance test" it to work on my 2005 6.0l F250. I have tried both using "run as administrator and without, with the same result.

RPM's say 0, no injector data (lines), and no control icons on right side for turning off compensation and injectors. Does the same thing with V114 from the supplied CD, V115, or V116 from the download site (www.FLYOBD.com). After 2 weeks and 25+ hours wasted, seller is telling me Win 10 will not work after saying for 2 weeks that it does. Also saying mine is different from the one CTroxtell but they are identical except for his serial number is 400 units after mine. I have wasted over 25 hours loading and unloading software and get the exact same thing as when I loaded the V114 that came on the CD 2 weeks ago. V114 did not require loading the VCI software from the download sit. But VCI must be loaded (not documented) to use the V115 or V116 IDS and quickloader.

Has anyone been able to get the power balance test to work with one of these devices and WIN10. The specs the publish say it works. I am about to give up and find a WIN7 machine and start over.

Also be careful as virus software was affecting the loading of the IDS and quickloader, so I had to disable and remove virus protection. But removing all taht does not cause the power balance test to work, it only seems to affect installing the software.

Oh no, I'm hoping that's not the case. I haven't had a chance to test out the features due to my brand new HPOP with 600 miles on it from CNC Fab blowing the snap ring and back plate out and having to get it towed home. I will try to get it all put back together and test out the features. Motohead911 had his running, will have to see if it's a hardware or software issue.

When I get home and get a chance I'll see what I can dig up and will report back after getting my truck back up and running.

Thanks, Maybe you know another 6.0L owner who will let you try. I am trying to find one to see if it is unique to my truck. It does appear that other things work and if I go into the DTC mode it does show RPMs correctly etc. But Power balance is a totally different feature and is the only reason I bought this. My truck idles smooth with just a little cold stiction. Starts easily, no smoke and exhaust is smooth and even at idle. But bucks like crazy accelerating or even under the slightest load. with weak acceleation almost like something is binding. Checked tires/wheels and they are free, changed U joints and they stay cold after 50 miles of driving, Differential spindle gets warm but does not burn hand.

I occasionally get a cylinder 4 error in Torque pro. All other vitals in torque pro are good and stable. Fuel pressure is solid 60 PSI even at WOT. The crank test with the wire that you connect to the battery is totally even. And no signs of a head gasket problem or overheating. Temps are stable around 170F. Been running new oil and Hotshot secret for about 500 miles and 4 weeks, but it just keeps getting worse. I am pretty sure an injector is weak and maybe maybe some leaking of the oil rail or Orings??? It runs like this hot and cold, but slightly better warm and hot.

I really just need to check the injector power balance before tearing into this and replacing injectors and o-rings etc. Which is why I bought the STIC device. I am close to just taking it to dealer and returning the STIC device. But it could be just my STIC hardware is bad, seller cannot tell me if it really works, and factory has never responded to any emails I sent them. Be careful as well, all communications with seller and info they send from factory have been in Chinglish, vague, short, and so far useless, (or the latest download advise in Chinese characters). Generally they send links to files already on the website that I have already been trying, with no instructions and almost no answers to my several questions.

I look forward to hearing others experience to see if this is unique to me like they just claimed, or the STIC device simply will not do this test (and maybe others).

Not sure if it would make a difference but are you using Windows 10 home or pro.

The SVCI driver does need to match the IDS version.

My device is still on its way from China. I bought it mainly to test the cylinder balance and to do the relative compression test. That seems not to work now.
Is there really no other program than IDS to do this?

If there was I wouldn’t have dropped over $1000 on a laptop just to run older Windows and IDS. I need to get it out and get it sorted out.

Windows Home 10 x64 processor, 64 bit operating system all latest updates and drivers
I3-3120m processor
4GB Ram
HP 2000 noteboook
You will get errors if the Quickloader SVCI driver does not match the IDS version they provide.
Seller did say never to use files found at Ford Website, only ones found on www.flyOBD.com download site. Although I am going to try doing the V116.02 update file tonight as well as the IDS patch file. So far seller has refused to answer questions about loading these. The V116.02 is on the ford site.

Latest waste of time is seller had factory send me what was supposed to be special files to work, and they came in an email in Chinese. I figured out the download eventually, but all it was was the Mazda IDS and the Ford quickloader file from the Flyobd website, which is useless as I don't have a Mazda (they know that) and they warn you against installing Mazda files on a Ford system.

They other big troublesome issue is that I built this computer so that all my personal stuff including cookies, passwords, files etc are all wiped, especially after that wanted to use teamviewer unattended to manipulate my computer. I didn't want anything on this computer they could get personal files or info. I also have a computer that is Windows 7, but has all my personal stuff and I don't want to load any unknown chinese software on anything where my data or files could get stolen or corrupted. So it makes moving files vastly more difficult if they are emailed. I am using a portable USB drive to move any email downloads to this win 10 diagnostic computer. Especially since I have all virus and firewalls disabled on the computer while I try to get the power balance test working.

I am by no means an expert, but I am not aware of anything reasonably priced to do the injector power balance if you want to turn off the computer compensation other than something that does IDS. So I tried this and have wasted over 25 hours to date.

Okay well I just got my truck back together and tested out my diagnostic tool. I'm not sure if I'm running IDS correctly but trying to run power balance I get the screen but no data populating. I will look at it tomorrow and see if I am doing it correctly or if we need to go down another path to get it to work.

If needed I can test out some other operating systems on my laptop.

This is pretty ridiculous guys! Why does it seem like only a few people can get this to work without jumping through hoops?

FYI, I have the ability to give you IDS v113 and the FDVI drivers that work with that version. You would just need to set the calendar on your computer back to July of 19. This version works for me.

Here are photos of the results I got after my head gasket job.

I have bi directional control so I can turn off individual injectors.

Also my computer is running Windows 10 Pro.

I am still dead in the water and ctroxell is seeing the same thing i am.

i went to setup a windows 7 computer but the power on all three usb ports are dead. Spent a whole day trying to make clones of hard drive and get them working on my other computer. minimal luck but should be able to try Win 7 today.

updating to v116.02 on the Win 10 computer did not fix the problem.

Got more useless info from seller wanting to let factory install v116 using teamviewer and redo what I have been doing for weeks with no luck.

i am going to ask they srnd me v113 if Win 7 dows not work. Will try that with 2 different HP computers. I3 and I7 ones.

but in summary me and ctroxell have the same problem with win 10 and v116

UPDATE: A HUGE thank you goes out @Motohead911 he has provided me with access to IDS 113 which appears to fully work. I will look into the newer versions and am currently communicating with FLYOBD as to why the newer versions seem to fail.

Prior all the versions I tried DataLogger would just pull up blank data on all sensors.

1. Download V113 https://drive.google.com/open?id=10Y...Y14Z0mLppWzzXq
2. Download FVDI https://drive.google.com/open?id=1-C...TNuF93msCR6nUb
3. Install IDS 113 as administrator with all default options
4. Install FVDI as administrator with all default options
5. Plug in adapter to computer and truck OBD
6. Set computer date to July 1st of 2019. (Run as date didn't want to work for me but I'm attempting to get it to work to resolve this as your pc internet browser will not like this date change)
6. Delete IDS icon on Desktop and open "FVDI J2534 for Ford" as administrator.
7. Upon initial opening of IDS select "Non-dealer" and select your country.
8. IDS works!

Notes:
IDS Loader will popup and tell you there is a newer version for IDS 116 currently. Do NOT accept it as 116 is broken.
IDS_VCI does not appear to be needed here as it is automatically installed.

I will update everyone when I get any further information back from FLYOBD or if I get a newer version to work. Just wanted to confirm @Motohead911 reports that IDS 113 works with this diagnostic tool.

And the really nice part is it's shareware. You can use it or free or you can give him some money for his work.
This might work for you and the date. I haven't tried it for myself yet.
