This is definitely worth looking into. Like Josh my interest is for the 6.0.

Shawn (Yahiko) is being shy... Hit him up for those IDS clones.

I have been being nice to my back any staying away form any lifting
od sitting down at the computer.

The Ford IDS has a use to date then once it expires you have to pay
for the next year. There is an older revision of the IDS that did not
die 7.0 maybe.v The clone IDS is cracked and patched so that you don't
have to renew it. The last one I looked at said it was V 90 but I also
found in reading that was really V85 or 86.

One thing I have not done yet and have no reason that I have not yet.
I have a copy of the Ford IDS update 2009.7. Looks to be a full install.
I need to do a fresh install on a clean install of XP and see if it works or not.

EDIT : Here are some videos I found on Youtube when looking under Ford IDS

Got mine today and I'm up and running. Mine is running on Windows Vista with no issues. I'll play with it more tomorrow but so far all functions work. Here's a little sample pic.

Also the active commands worked. I was able to make my fuel gauge read whatever I set it on. More to come tomorrow. So far the clone works!

Cool. I don't have a copy of Vista to test on and now we can say it works on XP Pro and Vista.
I have a copy of 7 that is (fixed) for testing and need to replace it with a good copy. What I
found when I tried to run IDS on 7 was the program ran fine until you try to connect to the
VCM2 then the network had a snit-fit and would not connect. The IDS software makes up a network
to run the VCM on. The older VCM and VCM2 setup a network connection and that is where the
problem with 7 comes up. Not being a good network person I can't say what is needed to make
a workaround to it.

I mentioned I was working off really old info. Actually I am glad they found a work around. If I was still able to work I would be calling Yahiko about a clone. No real need for it anymore. I looked real hard at the 600.00 dollar one way back then Lol Almost bought it. $600 compared to $3000.00 At the time there were a lot of rumors that if you tried to update the update software would realise it was a clone and disable the clone.
Pure rumor tho and I wasn't willing to take the chance or ask anyone else to take the chance. No real proof but $600 was steep for me at the time.

Old thread I know but having injector troubles on a 2004 6.0 am interested in getting a capable clone for the 6.0 years. I would like to get it from someone here rather than blindly off the bay. I need to be able to do my own work on these vehicles tight family budget. Thanks fellas.

Do the IDS clones work with Windows 7? I have been wanting an AE unit but just can't seem to justify the cost.

Some have said YES to 7 and others NO.
The issue as I understand it is the network security gets in the way.
There is a workaround on the net but because I have a dedicated Laptop
I use with XP Pro on it with all the last updated. It really never sees the net.

Hope that does not confuse you anymore than it has me. I may get around
to playing with 7 one of these days.

But Yes you can get it to work after you make some adjustments to 7.

I am looking to purchase a IDS clone or AE. I am leaning toward the IDS clone but doing some research seems that if i buy one it may not work and waste a couple hundred dollars. i seen these dhgate.com and was wondering if any one can point me in the right direction. thanks
