Nothing...kind of a surprise lol

My mom is a manager at the bank i use and i had her set up some automatic transfers so when my check hits parts of it go to different savings accounts like my joint account with my fiance and a savings account for spending money etc. Well i told her to put a portion of my check in one of my savings accounts she heard me wrong, i said my B account she thought i said D so she made a new savings account within mine called D and she has been routing part of my check to it for the past month that she did not set to be visible when i log in to check my accounts lol. So i have been secretly saving money in an account i didn't know existed for the past month and wondering why it seemed like I've been running low recently lol. I thought it was all going to gas filling the Expy since I've been filling her once a week going to school so often this past month for finals and everything.

Long story short i will be buying stuff soon now lol.

I have really been looking into King shocks lately and i like how they can be rebuilt and since i plan to try and not drive the truck in the winter i am not really worried about them rusting out anymore and actually being able to rebuild them before they rot out. I liek parts that are rebuildable because they will save you money after the first two rebuilds usually. Only seems practical on vehicle you will keep forever though aka my truck lol.

You'll like the Kings even better with their 6063 aluminum body.... No more rust... instead you get corrosion! Hurray! lol

I agree on the rebuild-able to a certain price point. Does this mean you are still considering the coilover lift kit?

Lol well at least the initial corrosion slows down the fast spreading corrosion in aluminum and copper.

I would love to do the coikover conversion its just so expensive i am tetibg to do more research to determine if its worth it still.

If you convert to 05 knuckles for better turning radius do you have to go to the 05 style hubs and bearings as well?

I couldn't tell you about the bearings and hubs, but I know the backspacing for wheels on 05 and up is different than ours. This would lead me to believe that something will have to change.

That's a good point, i will probably stick with my current knuckles then because the wheels will be at two different widths and i may need to swap unit bearings and everything plus the front and rear brakes will be different sizes.

The questions is do you need it to turn sharper? And would the gain be worth it? And then you'd have to buy new wheels or swap the rear to match. It sounds like a pain in the *** lol

Everything's looking good Matt. How's the POR 15 and fluid film working for ya? I was wanting to POR 15 the whole underside of mine, but am now thinking I might hold off for a while and just fluid film the whole underside, since I don't plan to drive it in the winter any more after this years. So I was thinking the fluid film would hold up well for just one more winter.

That POR you did on the front fenders looks really good. Was wondering why you decided to use the silver POR instead of the standard black. And also wanted to know how much you got or how much you think it will take to do the rest of your truck.

Those headlights look great too! I love the look of them. I just did aftermarket Spyder projector headlights with DDM 5000K HID's on mine. I like them and they look good but I tell ya they were the biggest pain in the *** though It was just a headache to get them in along with all the other bs along with them and the HID's. I think if I had to do it again I would definitely do what you did and retrofit a nice projector into a factory 05-07 headlight and then put LED's or halos or whatever I want in their too. Like I said the Spyder's look cool and are pretty bright, the highs are stupid bright, but I can tell the quality is just not there compared to a nice, real projector.

Did you try yours out yet? And what temperature bulbs did you go with? Sorry if you've already said this before.

And I think those Fusion bumpers look great! I like the one with the grill guard too. It would look great on your truck. I'll help you spend some more money. I think you should get one hahaha.

Lol yeah honestly i dont need it to turn sharper and i don't think it is worth all the extra work to make it function and look the same. Sharper turning would be nice but i've been fine for all this time with the current set up.

Yeah if your truck isn't bad i would just fluid film it then not drive it like you were saying.

Thanks! I chose to go with silver becasue the Silve POR has aluminum in it and if you have a very rough rusty surface it gets in all the grooves and smooths out a little and it also bonds stronger than the other colors. If you look on POR's website they even say that when your looking at the colors and also since straight POR fades over time i anted to topcoat it and topcoating black with black makes it hard to tell if you've covered everything lol. This way i can visually see what i missed when i top coat it and i have the best bonding POR.

Thanks again for the headlights lol I have not tried them yet unfortunatley i have been so busy with school i just finished my last final yesturday morning so now hopefully i will be able to work on the truck again even though now i have to do everything for christmas lol. They are 6000k bulbs i was talking with TRS and they said that with the 55W ballasts the bulbs are brighter but thier lifetime is slightly less and with 55W ballasts thier 6000k bulbs are like 5000-5500k. In my opinion iif its just about 5000k and brighter than a 5000k 35w then i figures for $10 why the hell not lol.

Yeah i love those fusion bumpers i will most likely be picking one up, i cleaned the rust off my 05 front bumper and waxed it but its poking through and it obviously hasnt even been driven since i cleaned it yet. I cannot decide on a rear bumper however i am torn between fusion and fab fours.

God damn it you guys make me want coil overs now i just keep reading how much better they ride in my research lol. Apparently for under 10" Full Traction is the best kit out there with the king coil overs and it handles amazing compared to the stock set up based off my readings both off road and on road handling is amazing.

Lol i never heard that saying until a few weeks ago only it was tweaked to "Like a fat chick in a bakery" lol.

Anywho I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to get the same effect by swapping to the 05+ upper buckets with a conversion bracket and figuring out the lower axle part or if all that engineering isn't worth it and just getting a kit lol.

Well the big difference is the 4-link. The 4 link keeps the caster angle constant which would be a huge advantage is desert racing. You could bottom the suspension out without messing with the steering geometry much. Just doing an 05 front swap gives you the trailing arms to locate the axle, but the steering geometry would change under suspension compression because the axle rotates on a fixed point on the frame.

The kit is pretty though :-)

Edit: The adjustable coilovers are $1700 ish, but you'd have to price the axle swap as well.

Damn your right that kit is pretty lol,

I still wanted to do a four link because of the caster issue i was thinking more along the lines of swapping to upper 05 coil buckets keeping the 99-04 axle and figuring out a 4link/coil over lower bracket but i think realistically after getting coil overs and a four link kit and the upper buckets I'm already almost at the price of the kit without coil overs.
