The rebuild kits run at $200 so you figure it only costs $200 every time after that for me i make up the cost after 2-3 rebuilds from what i would normally spend.

How do you like the Fusion Dennis? my Fiance loved it but the dealer wouldn't work with us so we kept her car and I've been dumping money into it instead of my truck to keep it driveable lol. Since October ive dont Shocks, Struts, Tires and now it needs brake this spring.... i would have all my parts for the rear end if it wasn't for that car lol. We are going to keep it for a few more years since we (I) just put all that money into it and sell it privately to get more money for it hopefully.
lol nope my head is fine they do seem like good joints. i'll look into them a little more.

The fusion is awesome, i love it. rides like a dream, so easy to drive. it's black with tan interior... pretty sharp. i'm averaging about 30 mpg with it, and thats freeway and city driving combined and a lead foot lol

Yeah i am still looking into them.

Damn thats really good mpgs! My fiance gets 26 mixed city and highway and thats in a focus lol but she drives mainly highway and she brings a whole new meaning to lead foot lol. What engine/drive (FWD/AWD) do you have? We might be on the lookout in a few years again whwn rhey gwt a little cheaper and when we can sell her car for more than what we will have in it lol. Cant justify spending all the money on it then selling it right away.

I had a thought today and need a few opinions, i was going to swap to the carli rear shock brackets on but what about the bds dual rear shock bracket? It is a bar that goes across the frame as a cross member would that be better for frame stability and potentially a mounting point for the Ex tank.

Hmmmmm. Do your shocks need replaced as it is? You said your truck rides hard, I don't think dual shocks are going to help you much.

With as simple as that cross member is, I'd probably just make my own. I'm assuming you know someone with welder? I used a 0.25" wall square or box tube and weld some 1/4" plate brackets on either end and fasten it with grade 8 bolts. Id you use box tube, you can even route your fuel lines and electrical though the tube over to the frame rail so it stays out of the way and protected.

That's a good point, I was only planning on using one of the mounts and basically utilizing the ability to the front of the Ex tank to be ably to mount almost directly to it, i could use the inner two shock mounts as a mounting point for the tank and get some grade 8 bolts in there. this bar would go right under the front tank mount it seems so that's why i considered it over making a cross member and a bracket for the tank. With this i could potentially remove the tank without removing the bed which would be nice if i ever have an issue and for routing the filler tubes etc i can do it with the bed on instead of guessing while its off.

Also i dont need shocks these have maybe 20k on them that's all, also my uncle does have a welder so i could utilize him if i went the custom crossmember route.

305 and the carli shock mounts are 175 so if i can make a crossmember for cheapee than 125 with bolts the dual shoxk one might be worth it..maybe if it works like i am anticipating.

Also what your thoughts on a PTM grille shell, leave the inserts ans center black with the outside gray.

Do you mean on your current grill or a different one?

Just the current one, it's either pitted in a spot which i doubt or there is something on it that i may be able to get off and i was thinking about how it would look with the black bumper eventually.

As much as I think chrome would look good on your truck I say go black. I love black grilles as they don't pit!
