I do have an 08 console but my shifter on the steering column hits the dash slightly and it annoys the **** out of me so i am going to go to a complete floor console with a console shifter instead to resolve all the issues and give me a place to mount my fuse panel that isn't mounted in a sketchy place or barely holding on lol. My thought was that the 07-current expedition and 08-current SD's have a similar dash design so they should flow together rather nicely IMO, i am going to take measurements out of my Expy this weekend and see how well it will fit. the 08 console will be going in the 95 since the flip up seat is broken and the console part is 1/2" deep and not to mention the beer throwers for cupholders lol.

I was originally going to use a 6.0l cooler, i could probably still use it on the allison since the duramax coolers for them are tiny i bet that one will be 10x better than those lol. I will, i know mine says shallow pan on the my allison page in allison's website so it is smaller than normal but it came like that.

took a few measurments this morning and found that th expedition floor console will fit nearly perfectly in the SD dimensions wise.

Here they are:
Expedition 07:
(WxHxL)
11.25"x12"x34"

SD:
13"x11"x34"

It is a little more narrow than the SD console but that will allow the seat belt buckles tp not rub ff the paint like they did on the original paint job on my 08 console so i feel with 3/4" between each eat it should be perfect instead of right up against each. Also the length was measured from the dash to the farthest point in the back on the expy and that sme distance in the SD brings it to the back of the seats with them all the way back on the tracks which IMO is perfect since now with my 08 console my elbo hangs off the rear lol. This looks like it might almost be meant to be! lol

I am working on the truck in spurts today its 18-10* out and the garage is just s cold so i am taking breaks to feel my hands again lol but i am currently going to get the drive shaft out which is goal number 1 for today and they have teh axle pulle dout from under the truck which is goal number 2 for today and those are my main objectives for today until i get a dolly for the axle to roll her around.

Well i got the driveshaft out, does anyone know how to remove the front shaft? The bolts looks really small IMO if i saw the right ones.

Here are a few pics

Also i found that my transmission and oil pans have gasket leaks there are drips on the ground and the transmission had fluid all over the pan

I also adjusted the hood which i think still needs some mj or tweaking as it is hitting the wiper cowl slightly on the drivers side but that should be an easy fix. I am currently thawkng out and gling to attack the axle in about an hour after this episode if house if cards lol. I may run to home depot and get two furniture movers aince they hold 900lbs and use one for the llison and the other for thw rear axle.

Here is a pic of the shifter i am going to use, its nice because now with the allison i can use the 321 section

For the drive shaft it should be a 12 point socket and you should be able to just pull it out. The shifter looks perfect like it is already a Super Duty shifter.

And it should be the same as the rear for transfer case side.

I am charging the battery currently so i can engage the case even though i can lock the hubs to keep the shaft from spinning i would like to make sure it works properly still.

BigBee did you remove the tcase before pulling the motor and tranny?

Also what is everyones inlut one an aluminum drive shaft? I will potentially need to get my current one shortened with the allison and cummins mounted.

I left it connected because I did not drain anything. And I knew it was going to sit for a while.

I just had mine retubbed and balanced. Front and rear.

how much did that run you? i am currently looking for a driveline shop near by to have them redone if needed. also to measure the difference all that is needed is the center of the axle mount to the center of the tcase mount correct?

It was 250 to have a new front retubbed to lengthen and the rear shortened all you need is flange to flange measurements as the driveline shop will take into account the slip joints.

Cool! Should be easy once i find a place near here. I've read that larger aluminum shafts (5") are stronger and lighter than a 4" steel one, are there any thoughts on that?
