I was forced into learning the differences. Being on solar I personally would have hooked up a ton of car batteries and called it good not knowing the difference till my dad and the solar company showed me. LOL
It is a good thing I did learn because now I am really into building fun offroad toys. LOL

I've got a sears platinum which is supposedly an oddessy battey. Got it on sale from $210 for 150$ starts great at sub 0 temps, 950cca its a bear. F you've got access to one I highly recommend it.
The sears near me doesn't have batteries ironically lol. I got an advance auto gold battery i bought it online for 30% off so it came to $107. The one in my town sold my battery on me so they almost gave me an optima red top for the same price but the one the next town over had one left so they saved it lol damn....
Anywho it just took me an hour to swap it because of the corrosion on the positive terminal. I'll post pictures tomorrow on my build thread lol.
I had another build idea to go crazy... lol so i wanted to make a tube buggy on super duty suspension and drive train with all sorts of crazy gadgets on it and I'm sure you guys will gladly help me do it lol.
Now your talking. LOL
It would be perfect if you had a 05-now drivetrain because of the coil springs and the travel you could do with it.
I keep trying to talk my dad into letting us put a V10 turboed (this is the main part he is against) with sterling 10.5 rear and D60 front from a 05-07 F250-F350 in our 89 F350 crew cab.
Dad however wants to stick the crew cab on a F250 or F350 (I would prefer the F350 for the straight axle) 4x4 regular or super cab long bed frame with a custom bed and build up the 460. Like I said it would take a whole PM or two to put all the mods and build ideas we have for our trucks.

Glad you skipped the optimas. Never had one personnaly but seems as if have an early version they last forever, at some point the quality didn't seem as good. I have a motorcraft 850cca in mine which is for the tow package equiped vehicles, also has the bigger alternator. Starts right up every time. If going for AGM I would do like Justin said or just get a odyssey but those cost a pretty penny.
Yeah i was reading that about them last night but oh well i am happy with the advance auto batteries although i had to listen to my fiance nag me about how advance auto replaces the battery for you for free instead of me wasting my time getting the terminal off lol.
BTW i am posting the corrosion pics in my expy build thread now.
Ok i need some input here, what are all of your thoughts about putting the 12v in now? I will finish the rear end and then wrap up the ibterior but my thoughts are i dont want to pull the bed again to install a diesel fuel pump assembly and she is already in the garage where i can prep the fron end easily this will also allow me to POR the front if the frame and get the body mounts don easier. I would probably have the engine rebuilt by a machine shop locally with a rwbuild kit thsg i will supply. After that all my power addons are pretty much bolt on such as turbos etc. I have the expy which is my DD and the F150 if i need a bed to haul somwthung such as the engine in.

That's all up to you. if you have the money time and space you can just do it whenever.
Yeah, i think i might i still have time to decide but i think i can do a lot of things nicer and neater since i have the space to take it apart now and not worry about the elements
I made some progress lat night on the rear end. I am hoping to have the rear driveshaft and passenger spring removed tonight. I am going to replace the U-joints and POR the driveshaft as well as the axle while everything is disconnected. I will likely get new pads and rotors while i am at it in the rear I am going to paint the calipers Black i think to blend in instead of stick out with the POR caliper kit. The only thing stopping me from removing the passenger spring si the lower shackle bolt is stuck does anyone have any ideas how to get it to come out? the nut came off but i cant physically remove it from the hanger.
For work on the axle i am going to get some Hawk Pads, some powdercoated rotors to prevent rust on everywhere except where it makes contact and i am going to install a RiffRaff rear Diff Cover before reinstalling it in the rear.
Try putting a jack on the spring and jack it up and try hitting it with a hammer. If it still don't come out try jacking it up and bringing it back down might breaks some rust loose and use a hammer to knock the bolt out.
This is what I had to do when I pulled the rear end on all the parts trucks.
However in your pic the passenger side it out but not the driver side.
