I got some of the parts cleaned up and ready to go today. I rebuilt the oil cooler, glass beaded the tube and painted it red. I also glass beaded the two big aluminum accessory brackets and painted them. I did something this time that I wished I had done before but didn't, and that's paint the turbo with some high temp paint.

I'm going tomorrow evening to pick up the rest of the stuff I ordered at the IH dealer. One thing I forgot to order was an o-ring for the LPOP housing. I hope they have one in stock, if not, it may get the gray stuff I still have to get the front cover cleaned up and the oil pan cleaned up and painted. Hopefully I can get that done tomorrow.

Thanks Kevin. I'm trying to look at the bright side of having to pull my engine......it gives me an opportunity to clean the engine up some more in places I couldn't get to before, and I can get some more stuff painted up and purdy .......that's what I keep telling myself anyway

Better wait on the LPOP O ring, don't want to see you pull the motor again, LOL I'm curious if that pretty turbo will stay that way.

Looks great Bill!

Eventually the paint will fade and disappear. The only way I've seen to keep a turbo looking pretty is with ceramic coating and that doesn't last forever either.. Just longer than paint. LOL

Have you thought about going ahead and replacing the lpop? You sure are going the extra lenght Bill, and that will all pay off. It would be neat to see a 7.3 out of the engine bay. I think you could really learn alot from that. Maybe one day I will have to pull mine and get to know it better haha.

It is a great learning experience for the newer guys to have one out of the truck and really look closely at everything. I learned a ton the first time I had my hands on one out of a truck.

Thanks a lot Bill. BTW Iv seen some kits with another external cylindrical gasket (not o-ring, or rubber, some kind of soft material) behind of the nut, do you know if its neccesary?

Could you ask what is this part# for: (International) 1846146C91 Im asking because I have it in my PC like a Oil Dipstick Gasket Repair Kit ??
