Good deal Bill. Now put that thing to work! I need to find my oil leak in the valley someday. Quick question, do you put thread sealant on the ipr? I dont remember doing that and think thats what is leaking. Glenn, i wish i had time to make my new dd more reliable. I have been itching to get it in and do some preventive maintnace on it just have not found the time yet. I hate not knowing where to get good parts at a good price for it though, unlike the psd.
Muddy tires, alright!!!!! I would have posted earlier but I had some inside information
What's next Bill? I know you will go nuts if you don't have something to work on. The CC??
I'm starting to be that way. Its really a B when you can't figure out anything else to do to your truck. LOL I even pulled my Geo Tracker out and changed front axles, all the gear oil and new struts and shocks. Can't think of what else to do to that to make it more towable. I even welded on and strengthened my 5er hitch, just trying to avoid problems on the road.
Edit: That's some cloudy looking bear!!
That's what happens when you try drinking a bear and not beer! Lol

What's your daily driver Gabe? The IPR has a O ring, no sealant necessary. The Geo had two torn boots and grease every where. I didn't have much choice to do something about them. I pulled both axles and got two new ones at $60 apiece. Can't go wrong with that, by the time you buy two new boots at $17 apiece and grease, you might as well just buy the complete axle! I mean you have to take them out to put new boots on them any way and the split boots are crap.
Ah that's right about the ipr. I just need to get in there and look closer. For the dd, my brother and I went in on a 02. Jeep liberty. We ride to work together and needed something to keep are extra set of clothes and lunch box dry. Ended up getting it from my father in laws friend, so that made me feel a little better than one off Craig's list. Any way need to tear in to the front end and replace a cv axle and figured we would do wheel bearings, pads and rotors while we were in there.

Ewww, good luck with that. Hopefully your experience is better than my foray into things Liberty was. I can't say I didn't see it coming, but that one didn't end well.
Yes I remember what you said about them Nate. We were just gonna keep driving the s10, so I put new tires on it and the next day this thing popped up. Just seemed like a good deal, and now that I have one I see a couple of them every time I go somewhere.
There are definitely a TON of them out there. I see them all the time around here and every time I do, I get an uneasy feeling, lol. The one dad go though was a basket case from the get-go. We knew it was going to be a project, we just didn't know how much a project it would turn out to be.

I don't know if the Jeep is some what the same as the Geo was but I'm still wondering about alignment. On all the VW's that I've done axles on, the one of the bolts on the strut is egged shaped with a cam bolt to set the camber. The Geo strut holes were not that way, straight thru holes. The best I can figure is the hub bearing is adjusted back and worth for camber, then locked with a locking bolt. I ordered the tool off ebay to change that bearing if I have to, mine felt real good so I left them alone. On my trip I'll have that tool 'just in case'. I call it Razz because its raspberry in color but as all the RVer's call their tow cars, it will be my Toad, LOL
Truck seems to be running good. Haven't had a day with clear roads since I got it running. The roads have been ice and snow covered so I can't really run it hard. But, so far everything seems good.
