This must be the one with the "basket case" truck, lol.

You should have listened to Bill when he was telling you about the guy he knows who is trying to sell a sweet CCLB project!

Welcome to the site, man!

Easy, it may not be "mint", but hey that's the point of a project right? Bill did tell me about the CCLB, but this price was easier to convince the wife.
And thanks I thought about doing an intro type thread but I figured I really don't need an intro... I mean come on I am already pretty legendary right? Ha ha... Now just as long as Bill doesn't get onto me for clogging up his build thread.

I don't blame you a bit for doing what you're doing. I'm just ribbing you a little, that's all. You're likely to get a lot of that here if you start admitting to people that you're kin to Bill!

And yeah, you better tread lightly or you may be putting that truck together alone, lol.

What about using the grey sealer from Ford on it?

I used it on mine... It lasted for a couple weeks and started leaking again.

Really and truly, if you just replace the o-ring while the pan is out and get it set in place correctly, it should last a fairly long time. What you will find with the pan out so you can watch the o-ring while you tighten the nut is that as you tighten the nut, the o-ring will push out of it's place and you'll have to keep pushing it back in. Keep pushing it back in place while you tighten it down though and it will stay once it's tight and seal well.

A steel nut welded to the pan should never leak though.. lol

Mine doesn't leak now, but I know it's just a matter of time.

I think this is the only leak I have Glenn. I keep it parked in the shop, and there is nothing on the floor under it. I hope to get this fixed and be leak free...... for a while anyway.

Well actually, I was referring to the dipstick pan thing. I never did get the mule's fixed. Other then that, they are pretty leak free.

I leaked oil in my Brother-in-law's driveway several years ago and still haven't heard the end of that one. I try to fix them all!!

I'll probably go ahead and put a new o-ring on the dip stick since I have it out.

I have a 30' I-beam in my shop with a trolley on it, but it is off to one side of the shop and I can't get the truck under it due to all the other crap in my shop, so Tyler and I are in the process of moving the beam to the center of my shop so I can use that with the chain hoist to pull my engine straight up without having to remove the rad support I could use the engine hoist, but without removing the rad support, that is just too high to try to take a 1000 lb. engine up and over on an engine hoist. I think moving the beam is going to be worth it, not just for this, but for many other projects. We may have it done tomorrow evening, I'm not sure, but when that is done I'd like to go ahead and get the engine out asap.
