He needs the cam retarded 1 tooth and the IP timed correct to the crank. This is how racin's stage one cam is run.
That would end up looking like this;
With an extra tooth(6.8 degree) of advance on the IP like this:
Someone else with more IP timing experience then me can chime on the idea of advancing the IP a tooth. But from all that I've read and on mine they generally end up advanced from the marks by quite a bit, seems to me a tooth over would be a good way to bring it back to the mark.
even if it's off a tooth you should have enough adjustment to make up for it. I advance mine a tooth, then I got a timing meter, I can go from 14 to 5 btc with the gear still advance a tooth
Another thing I think some failed to think about is that the cam gear is spinning backwards from the crank and ip, also from a gasser chain driven unit.
The turbo. Well I don't have it as I am being rushed go get it together by Sunday,so the turbo is not going on because I don't have enough time to order it, mount it and plumb it. Hopefully it's not to difficult to fabricate while it is in the engine bay
I want to know how that cam work NA, If it works well I may get one for the dually as it will be turning more rpm than the daily driver.
So please keep us posted.
My pistons are .030 and mine started and ran good NA with a even more aggressive Cam so you should be fine. I hope you get it done on time....I seem to keep getting side tracked on mine.... And Kid, Quit calling it a Motor. Its a Engine, its only started with a motor...LOL....
I know so do I, should have it in the truck tomorrow night, bed on, temp. fuel tank in and left with minor plumbing for Thursday after I get paid. And yeah my bad, it's usually just whatever is in my head. But I do know the difference! Haha
that's my progress! If I can get a return line kit tomorrow it will run tomorrow. Trans and following driveline parts to install, and run some fuel line!
It's brand new haha and that would never pass my dads standards for clean. I'll spend hours cleaning up my mess tomorrow! For real, scrubbing on my knees the oil stains out. It's a pain some times
