Subscribe, I just got an AE. What is the "dongle"? Version 11.1. I am haveing trouble gaining info from most sensors. Not to hijack but in need of assistance.
The dongle is the USB security key that has to be plugged in with the OBDII adaptor. There will be a number of sensors/PIDs on the list that the 7.3L trucks don't have... like coolant temperature. What are you trying to read?
The only "upgrades" (that I know of) are to add more "Enhanced" bundles. I would suggest contacting AE directly to let them know what you are experiencing.
Ok everytime I hook this thing up it pulls a little more info.
Truck info. E99 , only mod is air filer removed the box and put a rechargeable on the big inlet. Almost 300k miles. What I can't pull.
any O2 info, cylinder rotation, cylinder misfire, wont do a buzz test KOEO.
maybe the next 3 or 4 trys the rest of the items will start working.
The only code is p0470 exhaugst back pressor sensor.
I did have a low turbo code but cleaned the tube that runs fron the sensor to the exhaust manifold.

Rich...
Those of us who recently purchased our AE bundle... did not get a Seperate security dongle...
I think its built in now.
The bug thing makes sense... but i have not experienced any of the symptoms described yet other than the occasional loss of connection due t o my laptop being ancient... and held together with bubble gum & bailing wire...
My computer data link only has 6 wires running to it. A schematic I found has 8, there is two wires not connected that run parallel to the 6. There is a tag that says something like refer to body builder before powering. ? As of now I haven't been able to find the info that covers this. I did find an old post same issue, they didn't post how it was resolved.

6 wires? 8 wires? I have a USB cable to the interface... I'm lost here. Are you running the laptop on battery?
No I use an extention cord. My AE is Rev7c ST05 ( off Ebay discussed earlier in this thread). The truck side is the Computer Data Link has the 16 pins of which 6 pins are wired. A schematic found of the CDL has 8 pins in use.
Any other e99 F350's have this issue?
PS, thanks for the thread!
So professor, haven't noticed any new lessons in a while. Has class been dismissed & this is now a discussion thread? Any summer school a person can sign up for?
My last adventure was a recording of live tuning... I can't share much there. My next adventure is cups in Seattle, with BWST and woodnthings, we might get some data. The problem I have is that my truck is 100% repaired and modified... nothing to see here folks. I'd like to see some data from trucks with woes and we can sort it out... or at least a request of how to look for something.
I had a recent thought: I noticed some 4R100s are slipping with the torque converter engaged. It would be a good idea to look at "Torque Converter Slip Actual" on anybody's next AE run. You'll find some interesting numbers until lockup (if all is well). If you have a problem here... this is a huge MPG robber and heat generator.
