I ran some cylinder percentages tonight, as I am still chasing a miss, jerk, chug, or harmonic whatever. Checked for codes and there were none. I still love my truck, so I will win eventually thanks to you guys.

Here are my percentages and what do they mean?

#1) 0.0
#2) .2 - .6
#3) .7 - 1.3
#4) 2.0 - 2.6
#5) .2 - .4
#6) 0.0
#7) 0.0
#8) 4.7 - 5.6

I had no clue what was going on (too may symptoms and causes at the same time), but I knew it was injector related and it was getting worse. Tear down revealed the specific issues.

That #8 is a small blip on the radar, it could be a fast bird or it could be an armed stealth helicopter. Chances are it's just a gray CPS (bird). #4 looks OK. Not excellent, but OK.

Miss, jerk, or chug.... I forgot, have you done anything to your injectors recently? Is the "jerk" one of those things where you're accelerating and you feel a "burst" and a couple of small jerks?

It's more like a consistent jerk while at cruising speeds, and it's very consistent. The chug feels like a huge exhaust leak, but I can't find one and it sounds like its coming from inside the engine. Yes, Jeffreyt and I changed my #4 injector orings since I had it out from breaking a hold down bolt off. I did plug the red line going to the waste gate, was I supposed to unhook some type of sensor when I did that? What next? Any homework? I am supposed to leave for West Monroe next week with my camper, but I don't want to pull it running like this. With my luck I'll end up stuck on the side of the road at midnight with some guy like Shelby from 'Axe Men'. I don't have a grey CPS, I have the one towards the bottom of my sig. It's more of a dark charcoal color or even a dark shade of blue maybe.

OK... I missed a thread, or they're all rattling around in my head - I vote the latter. Here's a guess - you torqued the injector bolts and got a bit gorilla-ish on one?

Whatever the case, it sounds like you're missing a nozzle washer, it's installed backwards, or an injector bolt worked loose somewhere. Looking at the profile of the washer, there is a bump side and a cave side. The cave side should face the injector. Did you notice this detail when installing O-rings?

Absolutely! And as a matter-of-fact you held my hand through that one too. I will pull the valve covers off tonight and fire it up to see if all of the injectors are spitting oil. I will also check all of the Bolts. I am really down to the point that it is probably just the injectors themselves. They are the original sticks and have well over 300,000 miles on them. I guess I'm just in denial.

Hey guys. I'm still trying to figure out why my AE won't read FIPW or my vehicle speed. I contacted AE support and he issued me a fresh copy,11.0.1.,but said there was no known issues with AE and either issue I was experiencing. My speedometer works, but only shows as like .024 on AE, and the vehicle speed status(can't remember exact wording) just shows .0. Anyone have any thoughts on this?..Thanks..Phil

I cry fowl. I could hand these guys a 1/2 dozen different owners that can't get the FIPW to show the correct value without putting in a multiplier of 10, and about 4 guys that can't get speed readings. Maybe I should call them when I'm not remodeling my house, buying a DD, or working on Stinky.

Mine is the same, FIPW is off and MPH doesn't read. I contacted them about the MPH earlier today and they have no idea, sent me a the latest version too, but mine was 11.2.2.

My CC test didn't work either, but I'm thinking my oil may have been borderline on temp.

Know this thread is getting old, so sorry. I'm trying to figure out what value to select on AE to check my injector perdels. Getting ready to change o rings on my flatbed, 223k, but wanted to check that my perdels were good. Did the CC test and everything looked good. If someone could post what selection I need to make under the live data grid, I'd sure appreciate it! Thanks

Never mind, found it on Wood n things website. Didn't realize it was an idle test and that EOT had to be above 125 ish.

I know I'm late to this class sessions but I'm trying to get caught up.

Here is my data I just took with AE. My truck has not been ran for the last several days and is just sitting in the garage.

I live just outside of Denver with an elevation of 4,984 FT.

The data is KOEO.

Exhaust back pressure sensor is jumping around and spiking at 16.04.

What do you guys think? In case this doesn't show up as a photo here is the data

Exhaust Back Pressure- 15.9

Manifold Absolute Pressure- 11.9

Barometric Pressure- 3.75

The last two numbers are good, but your EBP is off-the-chart bad with the jumping around and that number for a diesel submarine's altitude. You can try to clean it, but mine wouldn't snap out of it when it got that bad.

Did everyone leave school?

I finally have AE on the way and am doing some reading. I have both a 7.3 and 6.0 to play around on.
