I'm not sure I understand this question. You at least need an operational PCM to talk to, in order to select anything. The last links in my signature are a lot of help with AE. Are you asking about editing the files, so you can take a slice out of it for posting?

I see you resolved the EBP PSI problem. Good job! The volts will be 0-5, with high pressure showing higher volts. 0.89 is fine... and your data show the backpressure for an idling engine. One of the very basic tests for the truck is EBP PSI (absolute), MAP PSI (absolute), and BARO with the Key On Engine Off. This gives you a base reference for all your air pressures before cranking the engine. If these three sensors don't all agree on your altitude at startup, then something can't be trusted to read accurately and control the fuel/transmission appropriately.

Subscribing........

Better late than never. Just ordered my AE from Clay today. I can honestly say WOW I've been reading this thread up to the 5th page to get a warm up. Should have subscribed along time ago. Also been watching some vids by Ken on the tube along with reading some of his stuff.
Rich your doing a outstanding job ! You ever make it to the Panhandle in FL you got a deep sea fishing trip no charge. Only thing is you are pulling the boat with Stinky so i can see how good he rides.
Cant wait to get it hooked up and dialed in.

Sorry for interrupting class just excited about getting the AE. Keep up the good work Rich and everyone else from here on out I'm all ears "or eyes " lol.

I've been told by three members here (including woodnthings) that they like the way Stinky handles. I'd be more than happy to pull your boat... if I ever venture that far with the Stinkster.

Well I can see I am behind on "class"
I have a problem child of an early 99 that is lacking.

I have some recorded files ( AE conveniently hid them from me ) I am away from said truck for a few days.

A slipping, no lock torque convertor
Lacking fuel pressure to feed the SS sticks
Black smoke a rollin!

I'll be checking in again....

I'll be here. TCLU issue is very likely the TC itself, but AE readings can help confirm this. The data you're looking for is likely in the same folder as the program is. The file will have the model of your truck in the name, as well as the date, and it will end with ".CSV" Stock pump is plenty for my 160/100s, but not much bigger. What size are your SS sticks? Exhaust or boost leaks? What tuner and tune?

Rich " Teacher / coach / master " young grasshopper here so very interested in using the AE i just bought. Should be here by friday and am super excited to get it fired up.

I have read all 22 pages over the last week staying up till midnight. I have what some call a reading comprehension problem . I come in on the short bus and very late to class and have a few questions from earlier back. My fault and hate to bring back first semester topics to present but have a few questions.

I imagine you are getting tons of PMs regarding this class, but if you don't mind id like some quick after skool tutoring on a few very simple questions i have so i can get up to par and share some data with the class. Would it be ok if i pm you or should i post them here ?????

Feel free to do either, but if you've read the material so far and have questions... I need to practice making it easier/more informative for everybody. I use this practice on the job - among my other duties, I train supervisors to operate complex systems.

22 pages? Maybe I should have broken this down into topic-by-topic threads. Naw... then everybody would have to find all the pieces lying around forum. I will admit, I get a lot of positive feedback and questions from all my friends on the forum... but I enjoy the opportunity get to know the people here. I also like the library of data I'm amassing... it's starting to look like a collection of "guess the grief" waveforms. I'd like more problems "caught in the act" by AE.

Thanks Rich..... its not you its me, i failed reading comprehension 3 times before i passed. Not something to be proud of but i read so fast i can't take in the material. For now I'm going to wait on the questions and get my AE going in hand and go step by step through the class and see the out come. If i have questions i will ask then. Thanks so much its been a pleasure reading it all.

I do have a request. Im not trying to jump the gun on this but i think my sticks are bout toast. 240k on them at the moment. Im first going to use my Ae to check all sensors like recommended " ipr, icp, baro, map, and so on" to make sure everything is in check. But from there is there a way we can use the ae to check how well our injectors are performing ? Might be a dumb question but thought id ask. If so what semester dose this start ? I want to make sure i got the basics down first so i got a lot of make up work todo.

As for your comprehension of the material, how are you supposed to do that without the software in hand? Once you get it and just do what you see in the screen shots - things will start working for you.

I guess I've been slackin'. It just occurred to me we don't have any images of the test screens. Thank you for reminding me... I'll get on this.

In the mean time, one easy test for the injectors is the Buzz test. It's simple - you start the test in when the truck is stone-cold. I'll have the screen shots for it later, but here's a preview of what old (but good) injectors sound like. It works best with your head between stereo speakers:

I put down the road flare and calmer heads prevailed. I have Vegistroke that has just been a secondary fuel tank for about a year that the truck runs fine with.
Apparently i need an EGR valve(just cleaned it) and a new wire loom. I am pretty sure i hit 70mph without sync. The A.E. is a fun tool when the truck is running. thanks for the help and education.
I hope this loads right...nevermind How do i upload the actual recording from the AE?

The EGR duty cycle is interesting - 0 to 400% range. The 6.0 is certainly a different beast. Here is the secret to attaching AE files:

I highly recommend you locate and purchase a powertrain control/emissions diagnostic manual for your 6.0

It will tell you what the results should be for pretty much everything ae can look at.
They are usually around 100$ but you might get lucky... try amazon and ebay.

That is a default value.....0 to 400%. You need to change the max value as the professor explained in earlier posts. The egr only works from 0% to 100% depending on throttle demand, load,ect.....
