Wow. That was a long read!
So here is my readings for 2002 Excursion 7.3
After I took the screenshot, the EBP reading moved to 15.12 and fluctuated between 15.08 and 15.12. This is KOEO. I live in Richmond, VA so I am around 350ft here. When I do the BARO volt * 3.1957 = 14.636306 - compared to 14.2 - so is my MAP need replacing?
How about the EBP?

Thanks
Joe

Good work, Joe. While the two are somewhat apart from each other, they are both pretty close to BARO. This is one of those "fence" things: If you are having fuel economy issues or running issues, and your budget allows, replacing one may help... or not. I would want to see how the sensors react under a heavy load (like WOT) before spending any money or turning any wrenches.

Thanks! Learning curve is vertical here! So I should do a recording from cold this morning through operating temp? I am taking the kiddos to school and that is about 20 minute ride or so. Aside from the existing sensors, anything else I should record?

Engine Oil Temperature. You'll want to be 180 degrees F before you get too fancy, and you'll be surprised how long that takes.

I can finally hook up to my 7.3 and see what stuff says. I replaced my EBPS last year after suspecting damage to the original after cleaning. I have been down about 1mpg ever since the tube cleaning and top end o-ringing so I am curious whats happening.

Ok. So I did a Buzz test this morning and it sounds ok. Consistent across all cylinders. Once I dropped the kids off school and the Excursion was fully warmed up, I recorded some info while driving to work. Unfortunately there is no interstate, but I tried to floor it a couple times from a light. Here is a link to the csv file if someone can take a look:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7K...it?usp=sharing

I then did a CCT test in the parking lot at work. Came back with P0284 Cylinder 8 injector circuit Contribution/Balance Fault

All of this was done with my DP Tuner set at the 80Hp/Econ mode.

Thoughts?

And I just crawled under the truck and it looks like I have the gray CPS.
Also have the fuel rail crossover kit and the HP oil crossover kit
Oh and I have a T500 pump that was put in around the beginning of the year - but I have some kind of oil leak in the valley. My old pump was the non-servicable plug - which I tried to fix with DieselOrings.com kit and it did not work (twice) - sucked it up and bought the T500.
Hope to god it is not the damn plug on the T500, need to clean it up and watch it carefully....

Here is more data on the Cylinder Rotational Velocity numbers at idle fully warmed up. This seems to go inline with the grey CPS and the P0284 Cylinder 8 Injector Circuit Contribution / Balance Fault code and from what I read about this leading to #8 being around 5% and #3 being around 3%

The gray CPS does degrade the idle a little, but you'd really feel a miss if #3 and #8 had actual PERDELs like that. Clay has a newer CPS that helps with the CCT and the PERDELs, but it doesn't take 'em down to zero like the black one does.

Forgive me if I am having a blonde moment(I am blonde) - so should I get a new CPS? Are my values acceptable? One moment I think I have a handle on all this and the next I feel completely lost.

It's a good idea to have a spare, and they are not expensive. You can order a new CPS from Riffraff Diesel and install it, then put the gray one in your glove box for backup. Once you've done this, take your CCT again and see what the new CPS does for you.

I did this myself and liked the results, but I was lucky to get my hands on a black one. I also have a new CPS in the glove box that I bought from Clay at Riffraff, and that gray one sucks to much to use again.

I can't figure out how to get my data posted so I took a couple of pictures.

Thanks,

Is that all just idling in the driveway or driving down the road? With the spikes in pressures I would assume driving?

Yes they are rides to work most of which is highway with some secondaries at each end. And the spikes were my WOT's.

I can spot "Stinky Spikes" a mile away... with a blurry image... on a condensed graph. We'll be talking when I have some time, I'm getting ready to be busy today.
