I'll have to do a bit more research, they have pretty much the same carb as that but without the extra crap ie: useless dvd, wires I can make for cheaper, instructions (who reads those ), and so on. It does not have the fuel line though which was disappointing. It was a bit cheaper though, still a summit brand.
That would be the one I think your talking about. Kind of a lousy deal if you ask me. And besides that it's a Re-man. If you got that and a fuel line for it, that would probably come to a total of like $220-$230. The instructions that come with that carb are very detailed, too.
I think I'll try a rebuild for now to limp it along. I have brakes parts to buy first, everything leaks and I've only got front brakes for now. The rears don't have fluid since it leaked out.
So it's been a while since I've updated this. Haven't done a whole heck of a lot other than install new 2 gauge battery cables, the old ones were pretty sad looking. I recently purchased a Holley accelerator pump cam kit, (actually a quick fuel kit, same exact thing as the Holley kit but $5 cheaper). Tried out the pink cam then the black one. Last one I tried was the red one, all tested in position 1. It favors the red one over them all. MPG seemed to have gone up slightly. The factory was a green cam. Definitely accelerates smoother than it used to, and it accelerated really smooth before, too.
Figured I should update this. Took the truck for a good freeway ride to go get my bed lined. That turned out super nice. First off, the truck drives super nice on the freeway, can hold the wheel dead straight for 1/4 of a mile or more and it won't wander at 60 or faster. It's quiet, has lots of power at high speeds and runs like a new one.
Before the bed was sprayed:
After:
The stuff is called Full metal jacket. It's hard and fairly smooth like LineX is but not near the price. I got a good deal on it too. Sure turned the truck from looking like an old POS beater to a nice pickup.
From what I can gather it's made locally in WA state and sprayed by a few franchises in the western part of the USA. I know a few people who have had work done by these guys and they all were extremely happy with it as well. The name of the place is Full Metal Jacket/ Lyntrux in Lakewood,WA. I've never had such good customer service from a company before. I called them, set up an appointment. Got there, no BS they did everything they said they would and got it done in good time. I'm happy.
If I had a pickup I would probably consider it, however, the bronco wouldn't be as practical. I could get it sprayed inside but it would be noisy when driving.

They do a lot of 4x4 tubs, and most claim that it makes it slightly quieter? I don't know, but it would sure rust proof it for life.
It adds a layer to the metal and would slightly dampen the sound but, it wouldn't be enough to constitute paying for it. As for rust proofing, I could also buy a couple cans of the spray in stuff and do it cheaper. I would be more concerned with the underside of the tub rusting. Like my floor already is.
Yeah, same as line-x right? I've got experience with that stuff from the dealership I worked for. I haven't used the pray can stuff much, only a little BUT that's wasn't the point. Over in the bronco section we had talked about using a bed liner inside a bronco vs the vinyl floor. Sure it's easy to clean, but it doesn't dampen the sound much. If it was strictly off road, it would work fine, but a daily driver it would get uncomfortable.
However, putting that down would help if I was hauling stuff with the cap removed.

This stuff is almost identical to Line-X. It's 100% Polyurea vs Polyurethane/Polyurea mix that Line-X supposedly uses. Rhino liner is pure Polyurethane which is softer and more grippy. Sure isn't the price of Line-X though lol
