Well I finally got the tailgate lined to match the bed. They didn't do the last 1.5" down towards the bottom of the tailgate so some black spray paint there will have to do.
I don't have a whole lot of work left to do to this thing except paint the valance, and do something with the appearance of the front bumper as well as get new headlight buckets for the grille. They're pretty faded, warped and have mounting tabs missing.
Alright, alright. I want to do new sway bar bushings and new leaf spring bushings too. On another note, 40 miles of 60-65 MPH the gas gauge didn't even really move. Hilly, traffic. Did a lot better than the last time I made that drive with it. I noticed on the way back though something squealing at certain RPM's. The belt got tighter with the drier air. It went away with re tightening the belt. I'm looking for a slightly larger diameter pulley. As the belt squeals every time I restart it with the OE 2G pulley if the belt isn't super tight. I have the original 2 groove 2G on it now. Anyone know what size that is?
Well I put new polyurethane sway bar bushings on the truck about two weeks ago. Helped a bit. Also got the factory air cleaner setup on. Just need to hook up the hot air system for it.
Looks pretty good! Say, are you in the biz of rebuilding carbs? I may have a few that are in need. My baby sis turns 16 soon and got am early gift. A 1979 Jeep J10 pickup. It currently has a Carter AFB carb, same as mine. My parents want to throw a 2 bbl on, we are thinking the Carter needs a rebuild. I know mine does, and I'm not sure where they are getting the 2bbl from.
Let me know if you'd like to do a bit of work rebuilding them. I rebuilt a VW carb once and it still leaked like an SOB so I know my limits
Got the cold weather hot air setup hooked up today. Seems to work. After running it for a couple minutes if I lift the lid up real fast and stick my fingers in there I can feel warmer air than outside and it idled better with no choke when it's cold than usual too. We'll see how it works in the cold weather.
I wish my truck would have had the factory air cleaner on it when I bought it.
Looking good! I could probably look through your thread here and find out, but you know the working man's time schedule I'm sure so I'll ask anyways, what kind of bed liner did you use? Thanks in advance FordFETruck!

Thanks!
I used Full Metal Jacket, it's a locally made polyurea bed liner. It's a lot cheaper than LineX and looks damn near identical. I love the stuff. It's grippy but you can still slide stuff. Way better than the Rhino liner my brothers old F150 had in it. You couldn't slide anything to save your life.

I'm sure it has a lot to do with the nice prep work you done but it looks really really good. I have Rhino liner on the interior of my Jeep and I hate it. I need to strip it down and redo it.

I had the shop do all the prep work LOL they sanded it when I had the bed lined. The place I went to does an awesome job
