I think his gas evaporates faster than he uses it.

Dribbling isn't right on your carb, or any carb for that matter, so you should pull the top and clean the check ball and its seat. And while you are at it check for debris in the bowls.

For once I got up at 8:00 AM. If it's not too cold today I'll do that. I've cleaned this carb 3 times and have a good filter on it, there's no trash in the bowls lol.

So I took my carb apart today, the check ball weight was in there but the check ball wasn't! I found a new check ball in the garage, cleaned out the seating pocket with a Q-tip and put it back together. No more drip at idle or while on the throttle. It runs even better now.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmcXa...ature=youtu.be

It sounds like crap in this video though.

EDIT: I am aware of the new check ball weights that don't use a check ball and are pointed to replace them. Mine is the old style that's flat on both sides and takes a check ball with the weight.

Good deal! Yes, it sometimes is the little things that make all the diff. And, it should get better mileage as well since you probably were pulling fuel out of the accel pump during cruise. That's why the check ball is there - or is supposed to be there. Hang in there, you'll have your truck running great, soon.

Yeah I'll bet it was sucking gas through the squirters while going down the road, causing a rich condition that I could never figure out. Now where the hell did the original ball go? my carb was a REMAN, the first time I ever took it out I don't remember there being a ball in there either. Now it shoots better when you stab the throttle too. I'll bet that's why sometimes I would get a stumble with very light throttle changes during cruise.

So today I got the bracket mounted for my fuel pressure regulator, I need to flare the end of the steel fuel line where it goes to rubber, I keep kind of chewing the outside of the fuel line with the hose clamp but I haven't had any issues doing that yet, the stuff I have seems to be double or triple walled anyways. Now all I need to do is buy a tap to make the threads so I can mount it.

Where are you going to mount it? Why not use a sheet metal screw or two?

I mounted it next to the distributor, there was a bolt hole in my intake probably for an A/C bracket, that I used. Looks good there. I'll get a pic of it tomorrow.

I also drove the truck tonight, it ran very good. Way better than before. It doesn't have that struggling sound anymore and it has way more throttle response and pep to it.

Best of both worlds - it runs better AND gets better gas mileage. Hard to beat that. We'll have you as an E'brock devotee before you know it.

Only for the fuel mileage, before I got about 8 as a rough guess, probably less. Now I'll get 9 for all my hard work! lol. Hey try out that IRC chat and get on it if you have the time, I'm on there right now. I'm guessing it'll probably get 11-13 city if I drove it normally.

Yeah this thing has had some issues for sometime, it also never really feels like it wants to roll that easy, my brakes aren't dragging and the wheels all spin good.

Twice in a row it has gone from just over half tank to 1/4 tank in about 20 miles, but this time it's been a few more miles before I added the regulator and fixed the dribbling accelerator pump nozzle. The sick thing is it took me 4.5 gallons of gas to get it from 1/4 tank back up to just over half. And that's where it was before I started driving it more and messing with stuff trying to fix it, although cruising around the block many times kills mpg.
