Last Saturday morning I went to the landfill. A dear widowed friend of the family had part of her fence around her pool blow down. Her husband built it in the late 60's with 4x4 post and 4x8 sheets, vertical, of homasote. I'm surprised it lasted that long. 10 panels blew down. A friend and I loaded the fence along with ivy that grew on it to on my truck Friday night. We put up a temporary orange plastic fence which provides some safety but no privacy. So I took it to the dump Saturday morning around 9:30. I should have went at 7:00. I waited in line about 30 minutes to get to the scales and another 15 minutes to wait my turn to unload.

Then on Thursday I went to the scrap yard 8 miles away. Earlier this year our soccer club bought new goals. One of the dad's cut up the old ones we replaced. They were made with 4x4 inch aluminum with 2" aluminum tubing for backstay support. So I loaded them up on my truck along with some scrap iron we had including old lawn mowers.
I don't know how they have the cash to pay the scrappers or how often they take scrap to get recycled but they had a huge pile of aluminum, a huge pile of cars, not to mention piles of kitchen appliances and then the building where they store copper, bronze, etc.

Aren't you supposed to pull up next to it, get out and take a selfie with the cute teddy bear? That's what the tourists seem to think...

Heading across NW New Mexico last weekend to the ATHS show in Aztec, NM. We all managed to break down on this trip, only minor issues with the 49. First, my buddy with the Chevy powered White had starter issues and we had to keep whacking it with a stick to get it working, then we tossed all the belts off the CAT 3208 in the motorhome and spent 5 hours on the side of the road before our buddies up in Aztec found us a set and drove them down to us. Then after we got unloaded we noticed a cracked from on the 1913 streetrod. Again, our Aztec buddies came through and found a generator, grinder, and small MIG welder and we made some repairs. My battery went weak on the way home and I had to be jump started every time we stopped.
My speedometer shows 5MPH slow. We typically drove along at 70MPH (according to GPS). I was running about 2650 RPM (man I love the 2.75:1 rear gears) and I got 15.4 MPG towing the Jeepster

Thanks guys
I haven't done much truck stuff all year long but I had to go to this show. Great people, great venue, good atmosphere, etc.
Part of the show is a parade through town (about 6 blocks...lol) but its fun. The show was kind of small this year. There was some drama with people within the chapter and a faction has spit off and started their own chapter. In fact they are having their show this weekend over in Farmington. I could have sworn I left junior high school a long time ago.
Here are a couple of pics

Ford folks,
I like this thread because it reminds me of all the trucks I have driven or been in and can remember the shape of the hoods. I remember my uncle had Off color Chevy dump trucks that had creeper gears for hauling gravel. The view over the rounded hood is something I still remember. I was about 5- 6 years old.
Great pictures! Thanks for posting all of them.
I cant add any thing to this unless its out the windshield of the 2015 F-250!
Regards,
Chris
