Operation: Zebra build

My bushing kit came in. I've been feeling sick last few days so I haven't done any work.

I figure if I order enough from Rockauto they may eventually send me a Ford Magnet.

Looks like this kit will work well. I had to squeeze the u bolt a bit to get the bracket on. I may drill the hole out a bit. have to see how much flex I have once its on the axle.

I didn't take a picture of them installed as I was preoccupied with diving into my floor shifter Project.

I had to adjust the cable a bit to attach to the linkage, but that was fairly easy because the cable is threaded at both ends to line things up better. This mechanical portion went smoothly and worked great, but you throw in a MLPS sensor and everything becomes complicated.

The MLPS sensor that I had purchased from Advance auto (shoulda got Motorcraft, I know) didn't work with my linkage set-up. I have a different rod and linkage then stock, so I didn't expect this to be easy, but I kind of hoped...
The problem was that I couldn't get the reverse lights to come on. I adjusted the sensor every nanomillimeter, but it wasn't happening. So i took the bolts out and gave it a whirl like the Price is Right. The reverse lights did come on, but there was no way I could bolt the sensor on in this position....or was there!
I ended up having to drill out and extend the slots so that I could position the sensor better.

Don't worry too much as the sensor is contained in a sealed portion from where the slots are. The metal is aluminum so its easy to trim with a set of Dikes.
Here is the linkage after I got it all hooked up:

Some people may not run into most of the issues I've run into. I had to modify the install due to my Y-pipe location. The linkage was originally supposed to hang down instead of up like stock, but as you can see, my exhaust is there.
I did test drive it. Everything seems to work, I couldn't start in Park, but it started fine in N, so I think I have to adjust my cable a tiny bit more. Due to my linkage being on top my shift pattern is reversed, but I actually like it. I have to make a new sticker to label the gears, but it is so much nicer having a floor shifter.

I get distracted so easily.
