Might be trading the Zebra. I found my old truck. A 78 F150 Ranger Its got the modified motor and the granny 4 spd. It has a 9 inch lift...all suspension. if I get it I plan to bring it back down a bit as thats a bit much. Its also rolling around on the practically new BFG Mts I put on it just before I traded it.
Here's a picture of how it sits currently (in the orange) and how it was last time I had it.

I really do like it, but it is gonna need alot of body work. The driver's bedside arch is completely rusted through as is the bed corner on that side. The Front driveshaft will need replaced (its not on truck currently), plus I had rewired the rear of the truck for functional lights. Something has messed the up so that would to be fixed as well. It also has a drain on the battery for which I installed a cutoff, but it should still be addressed.
In short, if you've followed my thread and seen the work of the previous owner....this is the guy thats had my truck for the past 7-8 months. So you can only imagine...
I know that I want to buy either a 78-79 Ford truck/Bronco or a 95-97 F350 as my next truck. Question I guess I have to make is do I want THIS truck now and lose the Zebra, or wait till spring and just buy another old truck to fix up and keep the Zebra.
Ehhhh......I'm gonna have to agree here....You've gotten the Zebra pretty tame now.....Keep it that way....You take your old truck back, you're getting the headaches of a different truck, and the headaches the guy has added into it....And plus, it might not be the same as you left it..
So I vote to keep the Zebra now....It's definantly unique...And frankly, you've came so far with it...I wanna see it finished...
You will really lose my respect if you sell the Zebra (not really, but i won't approve it). That truck looks like buying a lot of PO issues and that's always bad bussiness. You have put a lot of work and have a very reliable truck, it would be dumb falling on your face just because you want to run. Wait some months, get both trucks, you'll have a backup vehicle either way if any of the trucks need a time down.

Thats exactly what I was thinking off...plus if you get really frustrated with it you could walk away and take a break and still have a kick *** truck to drive.

'Nuff said.....
And personally, after he's mangled the truck, I honestly don't think you'd ever get over him "Deflowering" you baby....
Keep the Zebra....And buy another truck, and make it a Tiger! MUAHAHAHHAHAHAHAA
I only managed to get a tiny bit of work done on the Zebra today. I basically was able to get half of my bracket done.
Here is what I started with, just a 1" x .25" steel strip. I measured and needed about a 9" piece.

Here's another shot showing the holes drilled in one end and the bracket from the kit that will hold the cable in place.

Now I just need to get the measurements and drill holes to mount my bracket to the bracket on the transmission and see where I end up. If it goes as smoothly as planned in my head it'll just require me to reverse my shift pattern on the shifter. So that Park would be at the bottom by the center console.
That's not a brace, its a thermal undergarmet. They are doing drivers training in a truck called an ASV, its basically a tank with tires. I have to stick out the hatch while they drive as a safety. Driving at 65mph in 25 degree temps gets a bit breezy here in the mountains
