If you're already messing with the tranny, you should search for a tranny filter retainer, i had a link of a seller but it seems i can't find it... It will prevent the filter from falling inside and causing engine stalling (mostly in reverse).

ASV? do you mean M1117s? that's the extremelly updated Gage V-100, and really, a tank in wheels...

Yes I mean the M1117. We got the new upgraded ones, they tip the scale at 32,590 lbs!!

I don't think my trans has an issue with the filter falling down. Both times I've changed the filter it was still tight.

Ok, made a bit more progress tonight.

I got a measurement of where my bracket will mount to the Winter's Bracket, so I marked it off to be cut.

I decided to upgrade to .25" hardware instead of the cheap 1/8" allen setup they had. Unfortunately in doing this, my nuts were too big. So went ahead and shaved the nuts down a bit, so they fit nice and snug.

This is the bracket as it sits now. I hope to be able to mount it tomorrow or Wednesday.

Thanks Guys! I just hope that it all bolts up and works. I figured it should as I am able to adjust the length at each end of the cable.

Hey, listen to me on the filter retainer! it's only $6 and you are already working on the tranny, it's totally worth it. my filter never gave me any issues until 2 months ago and it has been extremelly annoying ever since...

Its headed right for ya It rained here for the past 3 days solid, then mid afternoon it changed to snow

@ Encho, I'll look into the retainer, I am planning on having it rebuilt, but I want to hold it off till spring if I can. So every little thing helps. Thanks

Ok, so I have a crazy idea, I wanna see what you guys think. To minimize potential downtime, I am thinking of getting an extra set of Knuckles for the TTB, that way I can blast them clean and have them painted and install the ball joints, ready to go when I take the old knuckles off. with my luck the Drivers side knuckle is going to disintegrate when I remove it, plus I can get each knuckle on Ebay for about 50-60 a piece. Unless you guys know anywhere to get them cheaper?

@EdgeThis So I have read your build from page 1-12 and I must say i am impressed by the amount of work you have done, now I am not so technologically advanced so if you could tell me real fast what a TTB is? I have a 78 Bronco Ranger XLT and the PO rattle canned the whole thing and for whatever reason cut a ton of the wiring, so i have a big project on my hands but i plan to work it piece by piece. Also in terms of the rear window, mine works but it moves very slowly so i figured i would just replace the motor and re-grease all the tracks and stuff, I was wondering if you had any tips on how to do this. Also my tailgate latches don't work so the PO put his own latches on the outside of the truck and i was wondering if you have ever changed these out or did work on them and could turn me in the right direction for that. I plan to do some headers and 3" exhaust eventually but money is tight so the small things will have to do for now. Good luck with your Zebra.

Twin Traction Beam is the original setup for the front axle on these trucks (yours should be a solid axle if i'm not mistaken).

Oh ok thanks, ya mine is solid. So are the 2 bars going from the axle backwards to the frame the TTB?
