Thank you for the decoding info. Is there a different way I should attach a photo to the post so it will show when quoted and you don't have to retype the tag info? The way I did it was advanced reply and typed in the text and then attached the tag photo under the "Attach Files - Manage Attachments" Option. Thanks, Dano

Hell, I haven't a single clue. I've posted a few pics on FTE, I just do it like I post parts catalog pics.
Hi, Bill! Could you look up the part number for the headlight switch for my 1957 (yes, I double checked to make sure I got the year correct this time)! F600?
Thanks, as always for all that you do for us!

I'm looking at a 1998 F700, I haven't seen the truck in person yet, it blows coolant out the radiator. I would like to find out what engine it has before making the drive out to look at, the vin is 1FDNF70J7WVA07220, trans AE, axle TE
I need to replace carrier bearing abd u joints in this truck, and they asked me 300 questions about the rear axle. Only thing I could say was it's under the truck... at the rear.. Thank you for your time.

I'll just decode the AXLE for now, the rest of it either later tonight or tomorrow....and will edit the info into this post.
E3A:
E3 = Eaton model 16244 Two Speed Rear Axle / 6.50/9.04 / 17,500 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity.

A = Ford 5,000 lbs, Capacity Front Axle.
thank you.Parts house says they don't list that axle. Needing carrier bearing for drive shaft. Guess. We will try th matching game.
Would you be able to find the part number for the wiring harness that catches the head lamps and marker lights on the drivers side? Longshot I know, but would like the nos if available. Fire damaged existing. Thanks again for your assistance.
Hi. New member here. Could somebody please decode this entire VIN and I would be very grateful. I can gather it is a C800 tilt cab made in Louisville, Kentucky with (I believe) a 361 2V FT Engine. However the rest regarding trim color, axles, tranmission, gross weights and the build date are beyond my googling capabilities. Thank you in advance.
Hey Number dummy, I'm new to here so hope im posting this right.
I can tell by your postings you're busy, but could you please decifer this Vin tag? The fender badges show it to be an N1000 . The pic is hard to read but I believe the numbers are
N80CU971518
2L2 J M805 E0818N DNH
49000 208 2800 320845
Hey NumberDummy, I'm new to here so hope i'm posting this right.
I can tell by your postings you're busy, but could you please decipher this Warranty Plate? The fender badges show it to be an N1000.
The pic is hard to read but I believe the numbers are: N80CU971518 N80 = LN800 (gas). No gas engine has 208 net HP @ 2,800 RPM / C = 330 2V M/D FT engine (approx. 164 net HP @ 3,800 RPM) / U = Louisville KY Assembly Plant / The 9 is wrong, has to be a letter.
3rd line: MAX GVW LBS: 49000 / CERT NET HP: 208 / RPM: 2800 / DSO: 320845
Look at the Warranty Plate again, because the VIN and 2nd line you typed are mass confusion. 3rd line: The net HP @ RPM do not match the 330 FT engine.
What year is this truck? Could you post a pic of this plate?
Compare the VIN on the title/registration to the VIN on this Warranty Plate to see if they match.
I have a 94 f150 and I’m missing the 3rd brake light. Didn’t realize it was missing until I removed the shell that was on the bed when I bought the truck. Now I have a hole in the cab of the truck which may explain the slight leak I have. Could you find the part number for the 3rd brake light please and if you could find out if anyone has one I’d appreciate it.

You are asking this question in the wrong forum, this forum is for 500 and larger series trucks.
Please ask questions in the 1987/96 F150 and larger F series forum.
